Guild Wars 2

The game became too dificult after lvl 40. I cannot even fight regular mobs now. I am hit for 500-800 damage and with about 5000hp at my lvl I cannot even complete my story quests without dying at least several times. I had no problems up until this point. I’m not really in the mood to play a hardcore mmo. Is there something I can do or should I quit?

I’m going to try and convince myself you aren’t joking, and try to help you.

1) What Profession are you?

2) What build do you use?

3) What’s your playstyle?

Be sure you’re using armor and weapons close to your level. Using armor/weapons many levels under you can be severely hampering your abilities. If you’re using blues (fine), I’d say upgrade every 2-3 levels. If you’re using greens(masterwork), every 4-6 levels. Do not use rares when leveling as they become obsolete rather quickly and usually have a much higher cost, although there are occasional exceptions.

Most of the time, this gear can be bought from the TP from near merch value, so when you’re trashing them for the next set, you’ve essentially only spent probably 50c or less per set (more if green, less if blue) since you recoup the costs when you merch the gear.

Aside from that, let us know what TheDaiBish asked since it can help quite a bit

I rarely even -play- the game, preferring to role play, but aside from AC, I don’t find myself dying at all. But, I am careful, know how to play a thief, and if all else fails, I lift my skirts and flee!

I think this is in the wrong subforum as I see no suggestion here.
However, TheDaiBish had some good questions. Maybe there is something you are doing wrong, and it is easier to help with some information on what you do, to see what you may or may not do wrong.

I found out what the problem was. The stats of my gear were too random. I bought a bunch of stuff with power and vitality and upgraded with the same stats…now I have almost 9000hp
