You dident play the first game did you? Otherwise you would know thats not where the name guildwars comes from.
Everyone lvl 80 is truly not fair , not because it is bad idea to level the field a bit , but because a true lvl 80 will still trash lowbies. Still WvW is not about balance.
Also , WvW is about war , locking any place a is a bad idea , end of story. You upgrade and hope others defend it , to begin with players play on dif times , trying to make other “fit your play time” is pure arrogance.
The announce part i think it is passable , would make guilds have some fun showing off.

No ?didnt play first one sry.
The title is actually referring to The Guild Wars, an event in the history of the GWverse. The TL;DR version is that it was a war between Orr, Kryta and Ascalon.
I don’t think locking a keep from being taken would be a good idea, simply because if this happened, people would be zerging around more to go capture as many places as they can, without the need for defending the place.
Everyone is boosted to 80 as well so they have least got a chance to help out (even if it’s just recruiting the NPC’s, or waylaying supply caravans).
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
