Prevent us from using the wrong tool.

It’s a pain having to switch, it’s a pain having to wait for combat to “end” to switch. Can you save us the pain of accidentally ruining the node because of the wrong tool?

It would also fix the problem of Master’s tools having no description and varying quality levels that can only be found by finding what tier gets ruined upon use.

dont do that. i like getting ruined ore ,lumber, and plants. if you dont want to take the chance use orcihalium or whatever it is.

Well it is either they keep allowing it or give you a chance to fail on mining at get a ruined ore. In my book I think I would prefer the current path, since it is up to the player to fail at mining not the calculation. They make Orcihalium tools for the reason not to fail, if you want to be cheap then be cheap, that is your chance you take of forgetting.

Though I do full heartedly agree with you on that the Master Tools need a description of what they can mine at top tier. It is the one tool that is playing the guessing game till you get the tier down for each and with food that is an utter nightmare…

No, if you cant manage your tools, carrying multiple sets, just use the highest you have access to, like i do, it not like orichalcium tools are THAT expensive anyway

Most people propose making tools have a chance to break on lower tiered tools rather then a guaranteed use. I propose adding more counters and using less on lower tiered nodes.

You propose not adding a convenience to the player.

Ruined fibers and such sell for money to the vendor, and you still get XP for harvesting the node. Why shouldn’t I be able to use up old tools if I don’t care what I get from the node?

What I’d like to see is distinct icons for the different tiers of tools so I can figure out which ones I want to equip without having to mouse over them all. It’s not that big a deal now that I’m 80. The few extra silver is worth not having to manage which tools I’ve got equipped, it’s just annoying while I’m leveling.

Pande, you can right click on the gathering tool in your hero menu (H) and it’ll show you a list with the names of everyone tool you can equip. It makes sorting a lot faster.

I feel that all tools and kits should be purchased with Karma since all kits and tools become soulbound or account bound.

I also believe that should you use a higher grade tool on a lower grade node, that you should have a chance to harvest more from the node on each attempt.

I also believe that Crafting level should have a play in harvesting… if you are say a weapon smith and you are harvesting/salvaging wood or ore of equal level or lower to your skill level, you should get a bonus.

There’s a suggestion about making higher-grade tools last more in lower-grade nodes, either by giving them more uses and have higher-grade nodes take ore uses, or by giving them a chance not to use up uses when using them in lower grade nodes.

That’ll be better than this, as you’d simply use the better tool you can, and only use various tools to be the most efficient as possible, but still be able to use the higher-grade tool you can, losing less than now.

Most of these are suggestions to make the game less convenient. I don’t understand you humans.

MithranArkanere, that is already the case. If you use an Ori pick on a mithril node, you it doesn’t take 1 use out of each hack like it would with a Mithril pick. If only we could know that it is exactly as cost-effective to use only ori tools as the proper tool for the proper tier, I would just do that.

Well, then I be extremely unlucky.

I just checked with Orichalcum tools in a level 1-15 area. All uses gone of entire kits, once per use. Didn’t even produce more than usual, just the same 1-2 gatherings per use.
