ANet, for the love of fuzzy kittens, please make different icons for Copper, Iron et caetera Axes, Picks and Sickles!

I’m tired of switching my gathering tools by now, why? I need to poke them every time to check which one is for which kind of nodes! Just add some flashy, distinctive gradation of them for users’ sake. It surely gonna help, hell, maybe even improve the artstyle of our boring backpacks.

Won’t take too much time nor resources, doesn’t DISTROI the metagame, as ’tis purely aestethic enhancement. Mithril Axes looking different than Orichalcum Axes, all I ask you guys for.

Forum users, whatcha think?

I agree that tools of different grades should have different icons.

The Copper, Iron etc icons do have different icons. Unless you mean on the map? Which I would disagree. They already give the name of the resource when you hover over it, it would have made sense to just say “Mining Node” instead and have the player ‘discover’ what ore it is. That way it means people are more inclined to investigate, rather than disregard it immediately if it wasn’t a Rich Node or if the Node was not worthwhile.

would be nice… could just be a coloured overlay on each tool?… though now ive just gotten lazy and harvest everything with ori tools "/

im refering solely to tools, not nodes

Ahh I see, you meant Copper Axes, Picks etc. Iron Axes, Picks etc.

Sorry got confused by your listing. In that case, I agree with you 100%

On top of that, I would love to see the following gathering enhancements:
- The Compare tooltip when you mouse-over a tool and it shows your current tool should show the number of uses left in your current tool. It means you can decide whether you need to buy a new one while at the merchant without needing to bring up the Hero panel.
- A different “Gather [F]” display if the one you have equipped is too low to harvest the node (it should warn you).
