No. Dragon wings (the account-bound ones) should be added to the achievement rewards bank, but not the buyable / sellable ones nor the jetpack. Things that you can freely buy and sell on the TP should never be made account-wide unlocks.

I do agree though, things that are given out as account-bound meta rewards should make use of the new account achievement bank. I see what you were going for with that last comment, but really? Causing a community split? Hardly.

True, only the BTA rewards, my mistake.
Items you can buy or event BTA that were not tied to reward yestem should not be added to reward items vault.

=) aside from those, I do agree. Future and existing ones should make use of this new account-achievement reward bank. I hate having my karka shell, yellow flower, dragon wings, molten gloves, (etc etc) just collecting dust in my bank because I’ll never be sure which character I want to use them on.

This one time one only thing is a bit ridiculous and not only that, if we completed the meta achievements it only makes sense to add them along with our other achievement milestone items. Many people have alts that I’m sure they would love to have their karka shell, or their shattered wings and also, forcing people to choose between making the one time item PvE or PvP is the type of thing that keeps the community split.

+1 to Account bound items, but not the trade-able items. (I’d also like gem bought items to be like this but I know that will never happen…)

Oh yea for sure, I was only talking about the shattered wings, not the buyable ones. I’m talking any of the items that you get as reward for completing the meta achievements.

To clarify this, if someone spends x amount of hours in PvE grinding for a spiffy new item, then goes into heart of the mists to PvP and no longer has that item, for some people that is kind of a deal breaker. So whenever you get these types of items and it asks you “convert to pvp or not?” it’s almost as if they are saying PvPers stay in PvP, PvErs stay in PvE.

Yes this is exactly the type of thing that should not be happening. If they’d just add them to the achievement rewards bank we could just get as many as we need and players wouldn’t have to feel like they are making a lifetime commitment to that one character that now has an amazing looking item, and instead can spread it to all of their alts.

I agree, one time meta back skins are kind of saddening, unless you bring them back for another event (which will endlessly disappoint anyone who already has them and doesn’t need or want another but I’m of the mindset if you miss the event your out of luck) but if you did it I agree I think it should be unlimited on your achievements. I think the “I unlocked this!” type of reward is actually a very good incentive for player in the long term, sure they may not like a skin now but they may have a character one day that will or their look may change as new gear gets added, they become a solid collectable and give players the option to switch what they are wearing.

Does not fit with the cosmetic design of this game, unlockables are a VERY VERY good direction IMO. And I totally agree with it being utilized more not just for the linear achievement rewards.

So true. I saw that in ways as people acted on dragon wings. Everyone wanted the Shaterer wings on both PvP and PvE and you have only one choice…

Dragons and Jetpacks go together nicely, as Dragon Commander has taught me.

I’d also like to throw in that I’d like it if they let us by parts of the gem store items and also have that be added to the bank. Example: I like the hat for the Aetherblade medium armor, but don’t care for the rest so as it stands I have none of it – if the hat could be bought for 1/5 the price of the set (allowing for savings if you bought the entire set), then I might get it. The biggest thing that keeps me from doing it though is that 10 dollars seems really steep for something that I use one time on one character and then never have access to it again (transmute aside).

Yes, making meta items like the Zenith skins would be ideal. Because if there one thing that’ll get me to stop playing, it’s the economy. Next is the exclusivity of items like the recent Mr. Sparkles.

Just this morning I wanted to rage at Anet after finding out they flip flopped on the account status of meta items. I converted a Sclerite Dagger to an sPvP one because I had absolutely no use for it. Why not it had zero value sitting in my bank. I recall being irked at the time because a friend was dying for it and I couldn’t even give it to him. Now, since they flip flopped, it’s worth 116g! That’s like Lotto money to me. I couldn’t be more kitten ed at them for not thinking about us who converted it. Now even more kitten ed at myself for buying $65 worth of gems this month. Grrrr….

For buying parts of an item on the Gem store, yes please. Heck, I bought the chef outfit just for the sandals. Bought the Krytan armor twice just for the vest. So I’d be much happier with pieces too!

I converted mine to PvP since that’s where I spend most of my time, but hopping over into PvE land occasionally I do feel a bit…naked…without seeing them anymore, and can’t help but think “if only I had two”.

So basically all reward like items that come with achievements should be added.
Now lets hope we will see ti happen.

Achievement-based skin rewards should definitely be like the zenith/radiant/hellfire skins. I agree 100%

Would be great to see this implemented as a system. All of the titles earnt from event metas are useable by any character, so why not the skins as well?

It is a pain in the backside not being able to slot some of the items because it will make them soulbound rather than account bound and I never know if I would prefer them on another character in future.

Most of the items can be transmuted onto whites to make them account bound then transmuted onto items with stats for other characters etc etc and sure Anet you might lose a little bit of money on people not buying transmutation stones to do this… but I think that is a small price to pay to make a lot of people happier with their rewards.

I wish anet add a pve wardrobe/skin unlocking for all items and not just festivities and meta-achievement ones. Btw this can be a good step in the right direction
