Basically it’s an item to make it so you don’t loose the look of the item your using for stats. For me the issue is if you spend a lot of gold/karma on that sweet looking armor and then fancy a new look you either have to buy a whole new set of stats armor and copy your new look armor onto it (wasting gold/karma on the extra stats armor) – or transmute over your current armor with the new look armor (wasting gold/karma on the old looks armor).

Right now i have my main stats/looks armor (my cultural/exotic set) and a basic stats/looks armor (my gem armor/rare set) and that’s it. When leveling i had noticed loads of sets i wanted to have for looks at 80, but buying full exotic sets to transmute them all was just to much gold to waste.

What would be nice would be a system that makes your old look into a soullbound skin when you transmute it (platinum transmutation stone), that way when you apply a new look you can keep the old look as a skin incase you want to revert back. Now this wouldn’t be a skin like the halloween items, but basically a blank stats armor item because – reverting back would then inturn require another platinum stone (window 1 takes the skin/blank armor item, window 2 takes the normal armor) which would then create another skin etc (so you always get the old looking armor back).

What would happen is, you click the trans stone and it opens the same window we get now, you put in your items and when you click “good” you get 2 items – your new armor and a skin of the old armor. (that is soulbound).
