Gem store dye packs why 5 common?
it is a gamble, a lot of people complain about the random packs of anything on Gem store, you just have to realize that it is a gamble
EDIT:
If you look at the price of most rares they go any where from 2 gold to 20 gold last time I checked 800 gems got you roughly 10 gold. With the random dye packs you have a chance of getting an abyss dye for essentially 10 gold with other dye’s.
My suggestion is if you get a random dye pack then have a full set of MF that max’s out your MF and then open them this will help you get uncommons and rares more.

Well it is not a gamble as much when the description states you will get 5 common dyes- no matter what you get 5 blue quality dyes out of the 7 in the pack. That is nuts 4 gold for 5 common dyes it needs to be reworked lol.

but your not buying the dye packs for the commons your buying it at the chance to get the rare, that is where the gamble comes in. Lets face it anyone buying a dye pack for 800 gems for the commons is seriously needing to rethink there approach. then again who knows maybe they just have the money to waste.
I suppose but even if you got 2 rares you still spent 4 gold and outside the obvious white and black colors you can buy more than 2 rares from the tp for that.
I hope they look into it but if not I guess Ill stick with just buying them off the tp but I would hope they would fix it to make this more appealing.
I counted 13 rares that are all above 5 gold in price at the TP not to mention the ones that are over 10 gold. Like I said it is a gamble your taking in trying to get the ones that were more gold essentially than you were spending.
It is like going to Vegas and playing the slots most people can play 100 dollars and never win anything, then the guy sits down after them puts in 100 dollars and plays 3 dollars and gets the 50k jackpot. Same basic idea here.
Legal gambling = Big bucks

Magic Find only affects loot dropped by foes; it has no effect on dye packs or opening unID dyes.
Incidentally, it’s generally cheaper to buy the dye you want directly than to gamble. Unless you are extremely lucky, the odds are against you.

Actually MF does affect Unidentified dye’s as they drop from mobs. The packs I am not sure on just throwing it out there.
mf would affect the chance of a uni dye to drop from the mob, not what comes out of it.
back on topic, anet wants you to throw money on useless stuff like dyepacks, when the reality is your going to lose money ALOT more that way rather than get a dye that actually is worth something. so in today’s lesson we have learnt gambling is bad, just buy the colours you want directly from the tp.
No, magic find does not affect what happens when you open an unidentified dye. It almost certainly affects how many unidentified dyes you get, but the only time the game checks for MF is when a foe dies.
