Guild Wars 2

Guild Banners are a cool idea for advertising for the guild but not so much that it ruins the game. On Maguuma, Lion’s Arch has been over run by a guild placing banners everywhere. It was causing a giant map chat argument and was ruining the game experience for some people. There needs to be a limit on how many banners a single guild can place. The trading post and bank are littered with banners.

It is a bug when they stay like that. Not sure how much of a priority it is to fix but seeing as how you are alone at the TP npc it looks like it’s making culling a lot worse.

I’m impressed; it took a lot of time to get those all placed like that.

I’m with asper…that had to take alot of time and commitment to place them that way.
Really they just need to go through and clean the banners up in that town for Maguuma really.

Yeah and it happens on a lot of servers from what I can see on the forum. Our beautiful Maguuma’s Lion’s Arch is destroyed by this [SFD] guild banners SPAM.

Please Anet, since your main goal is to provide us players (your clients) with a great game experience, please fix this bug quickly and clean the city! This is getting totally ridiculous.

Well if it’s a bug that’s keeping them there endlessly, they are exploiting a bug posting it all around LA excessively. They should get a warning and if they don’t stop 72 hour ban.

If you think a guild or a group of people are griefing your server, report them to Support. In my opinion, there’s no need to add extra code to the game to address this.

I don’t think there is need to change any game mechanics. This abusive action, as in forcing your opinion on others with caps in mapchat. It’s moraly wrong, so file a report ticket, to track down the person who placed them. They prolly get a 72 hour suspension to warn them that this kind of behaviour shouldn’t be and (hopefully) isn’t tolerated.

Its a bug and they will fix it. Given the visibility of the problem, I’m sure it will be fixed soon.

I will admit looking at your picture, nothing on them would bother me one bit. Although like many others have said if they are exploiting ( maybe they don’t realize it ) ask to speak with the guild leader. Speak with him or her in whisper, explain your issues and explain to them it is an exploit, if they come off rude and dis respectful then report that person you have evidence of the conversation. If the conversation is bad enough they will get banned, Although I don’t think Arena Net does 72 hour bans I think it is warning and then perma Ban. Although the ban can be contested, but to my knowledge ( not saying I am right ) it is a perma Ban for life on that account.

At least the people on your server did it in an orderly way. There are just a ton of them sitting around the steps to the bank all over the place, they don’t even have a nice pattern.

I hope they fix this soon. This is crazy and annoying. The banners don’t despawn and have been there for 4 days. Maguuma has been trashed with these. They are all over the lion statue and even inside the mystic forge.

This is getting ridiculous. These “goons” keep harassing the entire server and ArenaNet is doing nothing about it. I just want to play my game in peace without having to deal with these nuances. If something like this were to happen in real life, they’d be sent to jail for their outlandish behavior.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves, and especially your WvW commander who I believe is the guild leader. Grand Commander Rocode has drawn the last straw and I think he should be expelled from the Maguuma WvW council for this action.

I don’t know who this star fleet dentist clan is, but I really like the banners. The red stars remind me of how much of an honored society Lion’s Arch is.

I agree! At my job at Geek Squad, we once had people attempting to put up flyers inside of the store. This reminds me of that situation. When that happened, the general manager wound up calling the police in order to deal with the problem. I think ArenaNet should look to my experience at Best Buy for guidance.

That’s not nice. I like the banners. They add much more color to the environment. At least it doesn’t spell out offensive words!

I do recall this Rocode kid. I also remember a lot of them running around with fireworks. They certainly brought a comical atmosphere to the game. You shouldn’t be so angry at a guild that brings comic relief!

starfleet dental goes to any length to get IN YOUR FACE they are a serious problem and should be removed from the game i really hope someone from arenanet sees this its the first time weve caught the goons RED HANDED they need to be punished

The only thing that bothers me with the banners is that a lot of times I end up picking them up by mistake during a fight, and I have to figure out how to drop it.

Especially the Jormag fight where you are reviving people non stop.

I am not saying they aren’t but where do you get the number one WvW guild at? Especially when they are sitting in T3 bracket and ranked 10 in NA they are barely better than the 9th best server in EU. Personally I play on Black Gate that is current the 2nd highest server in WvW in the world.

I am looking at all these screen shots and I have visited ( guest ) on Manguma and I really don’t see a problem with the banners. I am not seeing how they disrupt anyone’s game play ( out side of the banners outside the cities where they can cause issues with combat ). Sorry to the people that are obviously offended by this banner placement, but I don’t think it is either offensive, game ruining, and or disruptive in anyway. I also don’t think Arena Net will Ban anyone for placing them, I don’t know for sure but a few people here sound like they were either

• Rejected by SFD
• Once Apart of SFD
• or personally hate the Guild leader
  And these are the reasons why you seem to be complaining. I mean personally I have read each comment and ( even though I am not ) if I was a Moderator, Developer or on the development team I would see no reason why this is disruptive at all. That wont mean if the Banners are supposed to Despawn after X time they wont be fixed but that would mean that nothing would happen to SFD or their council or guild leader. My suggestion is give actual real reasons as to how it is being disruptive other than I don’t like it, if you want anything changed.
