Getting to Vistas
What annoys me is that they can push you down, but you can’t push them down.
I don’t mind not getting exp if they fall to their death, or if they take no fall damage and simply run back to me from down below.
I just want to be able to do to them what they do to me.
If I take out my hammer and banish them, they should fall like I fall when they push me.
I agree – simple solution: let players push mobs over edges. One of the great pleasures of combat gaming is utilising your environment to effect a clean kill, so it’s baffling that ArenaNet seem to frown on it. No sniping from on high and no pushing off the edge when it comes to mobs apparently.
Ha at least when you got to the vista at Mire Sea (if you did) it worked. I’ve gotten up there three times now and its been bugged and wont let me view it each time. I’m with you its frustrating to get to, then when it doesn’t work I’m about ready to throw my keyboard lol. Don’t like spending 20 minutes getting to that stupid vista to get a kick in the balls.
Mind you I’ve tried on three different occasions, one time about a month later
Edit: Okay so apparently you just have to kill the krait nearby which makes sense HOWEVER, they didn’t appear to be trying to attack or even remotely targeting me so I don’t know why that was hanging it up. I just wanted to post how to get this to work just in case anyone else experiences this, it was quite frustrating but glad I got it in the end

i think being able to kill enemies from places they can’t defend, or being able to essentially one-shot them with knockbacks are both wrong ways to deal with the situation. sure it sounds cool, until you realize that suddenly you’ll have a completely broken PvE balance where finding a spot where you can fight for as long as you want without risking damage is the first law, and always bringing knockbacks is the second.
the solution would simply be giving players the same immunity as mobs. if you’re being knocked back, feared, pulled or even just trying to roll out of the way or using a skill that moves your character (hello death blossom), you shouldn’t be allowed to fall. you should only drop by walking out the ledge or by jumping.

sigh… it’s Anets stupid “fair fight” rule (as dubbed by the players; no idea if Anet it officially dubbed lol)… I have yet to meet anyone that likes this and hasn’t been somewhat annoyed with it at some point.
I too would personally love to be able to use the terrain to my advantage, but alas that is made nigh.
