During the Ancient Karka event I was fortunate enough to get the Charrzooka exotic rifle to drop. The skin is nothing short of epic.

However, the standard pop sound associated with normal rifles just doesn’t do it justice.

I’d humbly suggest that Anet consider changing the audible report of the Charzooka from the standard rifle pop to more discernable mortar-like thump sound to represent it’s ridiculously wide bore.

It’s gotta be shooting tuna cans.

I recognize that this is superflous and it would require tying a ‘sound’ to a skin, but they’ve already tied visual effects to skins (think Mad Kings back pieces = source of illumination), so maybe not too much effort for excellent results.

The legendary rifle The Predator has a unique ‘laser gun’ sound when firing so tying a sound to a particular weapon clearly is possible. The issue comes when others say ‘well my rifle looks like it should make xyz sound… can you change that?’. Youd end up with each and every named exotic making a different sound and while this would be amazing I dont think its possible.

I understand slippery slopes.

I don’t think it would be a big deal if they did it for one, or a few, and not every named weapon. The Charrzooka skin is just pretty extreme, so I don’t think it would be out of character for it to sound different.

It is possible. You see this in many other MMOs.
It just depends right down to the developers’ will to work on aesthetics.
