After the recent patch to bundles and such I tried out the elite ele skill giving her the fiery greatsword. It was excellent and much more fun than the staff.

Anet needs to make the ele have this full time, with those skill for fire attunement. (With obvious re-balancing)

Just change the greatsword skill into something else.

Anet doesn’t “need” to do anything you ask.

And it would be a little disheartening to see it become the most common greatsword skin considering I diverted my attention from Twilight and got the Volcanus for my warrior.

Actually, in the betas the elementalist could wield the greatsword. There was a whole video about the elementalist using different weapons — swords, shields, daggers, staves and the greatsword. We were led to believe any class could carry any weapon without restriction and would gain skills in accordance, but as is currently — classes have a limited choice in weapons.

The ele has access to all weapons through their spells, they are elementalists and so they conjure the elements and use them as weapons. Its a great mechanic, do you really think the game would be better if all classes ran around with great swords? wheres the diversity?

Elementalist is the last class to ever need more toys.

There are already enough classes which are fighting over the mats to make the legendary great swords already thank you very much.

I want an axe as a guardian if thats the case!
