Something I’ve noticed ArenaNet doing a lot lately is giving mobs more knockdowns, and I’m not sure if this is the right idea of "Challenging" which is whakittens called I guess. But an example right now is the Queens Champions, almost all 5 of them can eventually get to the point where they knock you down and as soon as you get back up they do it again. Its instant death and these are not the only mobs that do this. So my idea for a fix is give stability after every knockdown for 5 seconds or so. This would stop us from constantly being thrown down and not even getting the opportunity to heal and fight back because we spend so much time on the ground in this game.

There are more than enough ways to avoid being knocked down already, not really a good idea to make knockdown-based builds useless in my eyes.

yeah the knockdowns are real problem for me as a mesmer, as we only have 1 mantra and that stability lasts for 3 sec!!!! it took me kitten 13 tries to kill that stupid tornado lady in the queens gaunlet as the tornados wouldnt let me get up and of course our kitten mantras have to be recharged consistently. btw u cannot rechargit and dodge the tornados at the same time. anet …really? give mesmers stability please. one skill and not a mantra!

The fact that you mention queen’s champions makes it worse. People are already farming champions so fast that it doesn’t need to be made any easier.

PvE content in general is easy enough. If you were meant to not be tossed around as much, the bosses would be designed to do these moves less often, not for you to be given free stability.

As for PvP this is a terrible idea. The CC is already so very short and on long cooldowns. World of Warcraft has diminishing returns on crowd-control only because things like warlock fear can be spammed and can last for something like 12 seconds.

knockback is the most stupid and skilless move in MMO’s, I say get rid of that mechanic. It has nothing to do with skill, it is only irritating essecially when you get knockbacked all the time.

Managing the long cooldowns of your short-duration CCs to be used at the most critical moments does take skill, and if players are getting knockback spammed it’s cuz they’re bad.

I beat that lady in one try!

Your answer is: Phantasms. Just let your Phantasms do the work and shoot the lady when you get the chance and don’t worry about stability, worry about getting to a place with fewer tornadoes so you can summon more Phantasms.

Not sure how hard the lady hits, but I didn’t get a chance to use a heal (Mantra of Recovery here) and I use defensive gear. Lady barely widdled any HP off. If you’re a berserker, you might need a heal.
