Giving WvWvW Commanders strategic map options
The commander and squad was designed for leading zergs in WvW and that’s pretty much it. It’s kinda sad thet we have only 2 ways to group in GW2. You run as a 5 person group… or follow the “zerg magnet” called a commander pin.
There is simply no support for players or guilds that like to run 2-4 groups together doing non zerg activities in WvW.

Well the point is,that the Commander has great view over these squads and can at all times see where they are. He can let them “zerg” up,but he could also divide them up etc.It would bring something new to wvwvw atleast, the zerging around just gets boring..it is what is,and people will get bored of it eventually.I think giving the comm more options to fiddle with and being able to send a squad an objective simply by clicking on the map, would be a great addition.

If a commander could ping a map and make a marker that everyone in the zone could see.. that would be cool.
An “attack here” ping
and a “distract here”
I’d love it
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.
hahaha stonemist castle send in uav!!!!!

Aka large-scale coordination in a VOIP.
I wonder what the game would be like if Arenanet actually went through with the Xfire integration.

Without the UAV offcourse “killeraled” :P
Anyway, look how hard it is for a commander as of now,to try and split his group up in smaller parts, he will either lose most ppl…or too few will go.If you have these partys around and could simply send them by clicking on the map,All people would immediatly notice, the squads would react, and the people not in squads would continue their way since they do not notice these commands being given anyways. It saves the comm also alot of time and alot of explaining too do.

ah i remembered the commander, like everyone else can hold shift and click to make a red radius appear on the mini-map and map. if you shift and hold click then move the mouse it will make a white line for strategic attacks
I run Xfire in GW2. Works great, got my box on screen that shows whos talking.
