GW2 was marketed with the Warrior wielding a Great [2H] Axe.

you are not the only one that would be nice for a grate axe and sythe and not a skin

I don’t feel like a warrior unless I’m using a GREAT AXE. Just the thought of cleaving or chopping something or someone is ecstatic.
Sure, I can use a greatsword, but it’s not so great when other classes are using them [cough ranger, mesmer]. I want a heavy kitten battle axe of death that will show my prowess as a WARRIOR >:D

Look I don’t have anything against greataxes, in fact I’d love them. Arenanet hinted at them as one of the weapon that’s definitely coming in the future. But calling that promotional material is just…lol

I have to agree with wolfheart. The fact that its only in game design images and art work doesn’t really guarantee that they were promoting it. Even if they were, they scrapped the idea for certain reasons. However,before they even think about adding new weapons, Colin said that Arenanet plans on adding current weapons to new classes first which will be happening this year supposedly. Maybe in the next year and a half to two years this’ll happen. :/ also the classes that would get it would probably be Warrior, Gaurdian, and necro. Mesmer already has a huge assortment of weapons they can use.

Yup, definitely need Great Axes, My Charr warrior would switch to that in a heartbeat

Why don’t we just let all classes wield all weapons? I would love to see my elementalist permanently wielding a fiery greatsword while attuned to fire, only to have it change its spells when I switched attunements. No need for a conjured weapon in that case. The same could be done with the icy longbow and flaming axe.

Anet, any word on this to cleanse our curiosity?

They need to add Scythes , whichever class gets that will instantly my new main.

My warrior is more than a year old, and he’s been using a greatsword as a placeholder for a two-handed axe since day one. He’s growing impatient. Impatience will eventually turn to anger. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. So unless you want one very angry norn warrior banging down your door, give us two-handed axes soon.

If there was a fan focus, I’d use it in a second (well the three weeks to craft it of course)
