I dont know where else to go, so I will put it here.

First let me state I love the game, despite the fact that sometimes I get frustrated at the balance of classes (specifically the poor staff ele which keeps suffering indirect nerfs after nerfs). But that aside, I would like to propose the inclusion of a new weapon to elementalists.

A while ago I made a threat which I recently bumped and to my surprise it got upvoted quite the bit, earning the (+1*) and several people agreeing with it, only a very vocal minority was opposed to it and they received no upvotes, so it is safe to assume this option is quite popular.

Why:

First I will start with the game’s sake: Many people LOVE the greatswords skins, they are by far the most aesthetically beautiful and variated, with even 2 legendaries. Another big reason $$$, BELIEVE ME , happy customers are spending costumers. Take me for example, college broken student who recently lost his job. Usually Im quite tight with video games, bought the game cuz not subscription fee, yet I have spent more money on it than I care to admit, but that on ly happens when Im happy. I bought gems when I beat Liadri, havent used it. I bought gems with the staff buffs, bought the perma gathering tools. I bought gems with the the Zephir. If I, broken guy care to spend money to support a game I enjoy, other people who spend it just because will spend even more! Money aside, eye candy works, If Im having fun while enjoying what I see then I will be a happier gamer.

Possible problem; Elite

Lets face it, other than killing Subject Alpha in CoE or escaping (badly since it has a casting time) in WvW, that sword has no significant buff and more often than not you tend to get angry when someone picks up the other sword if you were planning to use it in combat. So I will throw a stupid suggestion; replace the elite with another that increases the “effectivity” of the ele based on the element currently tuned, ex Fire is massive amount of power, water is healing, lighting is % crit, earth is defense or something around that style, be creative.

Please Anet, Im sure you know whats best fot your company and I have trusted it for years, Im sure you can see how one of the most popular classes (gameplay wise) who have bit the dust for so long could use some boost!

Why? Because love the GS, and I want a weapon that emphasizes long range DPS, also since I know we are never going to get a buff for damage staff. As for the ultimate, change it or something, it is used mostly in PvE for fun and in sPvP it mostly cripple yourself. We dont really have any elite that makes you go from meh to WOAH, so might as well not use the elite excuse to not do the GS skills”

nono, greatswords are already used way too much, other weapon combons need to be made more viable

I actually dislike all greatsword skins, none are feminine enough except the new Zodiac ones but you have to spend an arm & a leg to get it.

I’d rather warhorn, atleast those have both masculine & feminine skins

I’d rather have one-handed sword on Elementalist, so they could wield Bolt.

Well, there is fiction about people wielding magic and guns. For instance, Deadlands is a pen and paper system that mixes far-west, steampunk and magic and you have the anime/manga Outlaw Star where they use special guns that fire spell bullets.

Also, the mesmer can already wield a pistol off-hand. So, I’d be interested at how it would work on an elementalist.

I’m up for more variety in general. +1’d

Dustfinger, you need to be careful with that link. It doesn’t promise anything and I think I’d prefer to see that kind of information released formally on the GW2 official website before believing it :P Just because the first paragraph is copied from the official sites doesn’t mean the rest of it is truthful.

Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.

The link specifically states that the confirmation of all weapons for all classes is in a phone interview. So it can’t be wrong unless it’s a flat outy lie. if it isa flat out lie, the sight will lose all credibility.

So while it doesn’t promise anything, it does say that it is being worked on. I’ll link it and everyone can choose amongst themselves whether it is credible.

I read that too but that was aound the time Colin said about new skills being introduced so i assumed the guy misunderstood that for new weapons, but I could be rong and I REALLY hope im wrong

Ah. What I took from the article is that he bullet points what was said in the blog. he then prefaces everything else after addressing the blog with ““Now let’s talk about the specifics Colin and I chatted about during our call.” So that told me that everything he was about to address was done via phone interview. And the ‘all weapons for all classes’ fell into the phone interview portion.

in that case then im getting my hopes quite high! lets hope i (and many many other people) dont get majorly disappointed!
