Guaranteed Badges of Honor for finishers
The problem of finishing players is . Most players donĀ“t even scratch the downed person. they see someone downed and run to finish him, forgetting everything else, even helping people.
Your problem is really valid but will just create more people just look for finish than really trying to kill.
didn’t thought of that >.<
maybe guranteed fortaking things in WvW?
Like chance for 1 badge at bronze, at least 1 for silver, chance for 2 and 2 guranteed for gold?
sure, you coiuld just stand there and watch and still get one, but at least you have to spend time there plus, if you do nothing you most likely only get bronze
Don’t forget the chest at the end of the jumping puzzle in WvW gives badges
Yes, the chest at the end gives badges, but I think the point is that people should be able to actually play WvW and get badge drops at a reasonable rate, rather than having to farm jumping puzzle dailies, which really isn’t in the spirit of WvW to begin with.
also, in JP’s are often funkillers (people who just want to disturb others)
and to repeat them on a daily basis is also not fun
Badges should not be given out from the JP- they should be earned.
You should get a badge for each completed event in wvw as well as randomly from kills that you contribute to, so say one badge for each successful gold defence as well as one for each successful gold attack, so encouraging people to help defend as well as attack. At the moment there is not enough incentive to defend things which results in karma trains of commanders and zergs going around endlessly recapping and then running off.
How about X number of badges for every 100 supplies used to repair (not to build siege though, that could be abused badly), X number for every 100 bessies escorted, etc – could easily be tied in o the current tiers for wvw achievements.
Make badges a part of the reward for participating in wvw and remove them from JP- or better yet remove JP from wvw entirely.
Defending should always net badges. There should be more emphasis put on holdign what you got rather than just constantly retaking things.

Pretty much 90% of what I’ve been doing in WvW lately to get my badges.

The WvW jumping puzzles are how I get my siege weapons though. If it weren’t for the JPs in WvW, I likely wouldn’t be carrying any siege aside from an arrow cart or two. The 5-10 badges you receive from the JPs are a nice added incentive for me to do them. I have to be careful with how many coins or badges I spend on siege weapons if I ever want a Legendary weapon.

This sounds good, it’d give me another incentive to repair walls/gates aside from doing it so the enemy can’t get in.
X number for every 100 bessies escorted
Even if people would start only escorting dolyaks, they’d still need to help cap towers or keeps to actually be able to start escorting; I don’t see a problem with this being added in.

I’ve made over a 1000 badges in my time on GW2 (and I know some people have made many more) and I can tell you that it seems that doing more damage to an opponent (near or above your level) in either the downed or up state is what gives you badges. However, there are times when simply tagging somebody gets you 2 badges. Fighting green arrows gives you garbage loot and usually no badges.
