I’ll keep this short and to the point
Aegis ruins a lot of shield skins.

I feel as if the aegis effect should only appear in combat, or at the very least don’t make it appear when you unsheathe your weapon via keybind

This isn’t just me whining because it ruins my legendary (because believe me, I knew what I was getting into), but because I’ve noticed TONS of other skins that are laughable with the big blue blob ruining their aesthetic. Two examples off the top of my head would be the Halloween shields

Personally I think aegis looks awesome on flameseeker prophecies but I must agree that it does ruin a lot of shields. You can’t look totally “evil” for instance and more than just often, it ruins the style. Aegis needs to be re-modeled. With staffs it looks great tho.

I would like it if aegis created this glow on your body or something similar to focus #4.

I beg to differ. Seeing as we have passive aegis as an virtue that lasts over 9 hours… You will always have aegis when you are merely hanging out without engaging combat.

It makes the staff look amazing yet it does look silly hovoring over most offhand items. It looks VERY wierd when it appears over a real shield.

The current effect should only appear if you wield a 2h weapon, if you are holding an of hand weapon, the aegis should simply aoutline the weapon with a soft blue glow. This should be a fair compromise as everyone I know loves how it looks when you use a hammer/greatsword/staff yet hates it hovoring over their focus/torch/shield.

I completely agree, the aegis effect needs to be changed or atleast given a toggle function of some sort. Best way to bring this to developer’s attention?
