As a guardian player, I really like the idea of shields on guardian but it feels like they are useless and overtaken by focuses. Shield of judgement (s4) is a good skill but IMO needs a little buff. It grants you (and your allies, who are ridiculously hard to hit especially when your mainhand is a melee weapon) 3 seconds of protection with a cooldown of 30 seconds. Shieild of absorption feels just kind of useless. Shield of wrath (f5) is basically what s5 should be.

So here are my auggestions in total:

Shield

-Shield of judgement (s4)

1)Reduce the cooldown to 15 seconds and increase the range of the skill.

2)Reduce the cooldown to 20 seconds, increase the protection duration to 4-5 seconds and increase the range.

-Shield of absorption (s5)

Replace the skill with Shield of wrath (f5) and

1) Let it be the same as it is

2) When the shield explodes, instead of dealing damage, give retaliation and regeneration to allies

3) When the shield explodes, instead of dealing damage, grant 3-5 stacks of might and/or fury to your allies.

4) When the shield explodes, heal nearby allies

Focus

-Shield of wrath (f5)

Replace it with a new skill called Flames of Balthazar or something like that.

1) (Target skill) Ignite (Deal some damage and inflict like 3-5 seconds of burning) the target enemy and all enemies around him, cure 1-2 conditions on all allies that are around the target.

So all in all the focus will have a little more offensive and condition based setup while shield is based on boons.

That is just my idea on how to balance guardian a little and I hope you are with me and Areanet sees this.

I’m not sure how viable it is in PvE but from a PvP standpoint the shield is fairly balanced. As a point bunker the shield provides the player and allies with protection and has an invaluable knockback skill to keep opponents off the point. I will say the changed you suggested would make the shield even more powerful and probably a bit unbalanced in PvP. Just something to consider

Too many balance for “dead” part of game(sPvP). Arena need to make all skills balance only for WvWvW. In my opinion PvE don`t need balance.
