Used to be you got rewards. Why they took it out who knows. Someone mentioned bots were why it was removed..
All WvW rewards should be raised, especially defensive ones.
When are people going to figure out there’s a war going on?
@kromsin You are correct the reason they cut the rewards is because of bots. I have spent a ton of hours (yes hours) of running dolyaks so i agree something needs to be done to reward these players.
@Raincrow i agree with this as well especially about defensive rewards. Right now all people want to do is just zerg around (it is kind of fun) but we need something to influence people to be defensive.

Defensive rewards should definitely be raised, including escorting dolyak ones.
I’ve also escorted them a few hours myself. While it may not seem like much, it’s almost vital and necessary if upgrades are to be made.
I agree with above posters that all WvW rewards should be increased. By how much, is up in the air and I’m unsure of. But I figure everyone who is doing their part should be rewarded appropriately.
They had dolyak rewards but removed them because they couldn’t figure out how to stop the bots.
Bots would just follow the dolyaks around 24/7. Originally they promised to bring the rewards back after they sorted out a solution but that was months ago.

That and there was just a post today if I’m not mistaken about how they removed like some huge number such as 35,000 or something bots.
I agree that bots are awful, and I’m glad to see them taking actions against them. But taxing those of us that are legit players makes me want to kick a dog.
Perhaps limit the amount of times in a certain time period you can get that reward. Priorities i guess as a designer.
Why not make all rewards in WvW for easily bot-able activities account bound? Would that not greatly reduce the reason for there to be bots?
Lack of help on defensive/preventative tasks is my number one frustration in WvW, and I hope it gets addressed. A lot of people need more incentive than just doing those things because they help the cause.
On top of that, defensive-minded players like me who prefer to not PvE or do jumping puzzles are often strapped for coin. Siege gets expensive when you’re on a fixed income. Being rewarded with things like account bound siege prints, food, boosts, badges, etc., would allow those of us who just want to WvW be able to do that, and make those un-glamorous tasks feel less thankless.
Yeah the bots was the problem. And players who weren’t botting, and were just following the dolyaks for easy rewards and not helping out in battles, thus taking space away from players who actually wanted to PLAY.

Sometimes it’s important to run dolyaks as it is assaulting them. Which the later gives a reward.

Why? It wasn’t rare to see 20-30 people escorting EACH Dolyak while your keeps were getting taken. People would farm them all day for the karma/xp etc. Bot trains started and were quite common.
This led to longer queue’s as PvE’ers and bots would fill out these spots just to run Doly’s all day.
If rewards have to come back…it’d have to be small and have a cap to it.

Increase rewards for killing dolyaks that have players escorting. This will make groups more likely to kill anyone escorting doly’s, including bots. Also, increase awards for keeps that have not been capped for a certain amount of time – so that people have more incentive to go after keeps instead of letting them linger all week while killing doly’s.

Again how are you going to do that when there are 20-30 milking the rewards? You literally had to have your zerg come in and wipe them.
You guys don’t even need rewards. Doing the little things is what seperates the men from the boys. I don’t get crap for fully upgrading a supply camp/sieging it up and camping it to prevent small 5 team flips…..but I do it anyways to insure a strong supply chain.

I would be okay with that, it just seems silly that an absolute necessary and unglamorous part of WvWvW is escorting those Dolyaks, but there is no reward. Well there is a reward. Protecting your supply helps a lot in WvWvW. I just wish I was not the only one always doing it.
