Hey there!

I couldn’t find a thread on this so forgive me if there already has been one.

I play on the Piken Square server even though I am in West Coast NA due to my schedule.

My suggestion is to allow Guesting to be on any server(Euro to NA and vice-versa). Even being able to run a dungeon or fractals with friends from another zone would be a step in the right direction.

Guesting is great, but it could be even better!

Thanks!

I’d like to see that.
It was a big part for my decision joining GW2 to be able to play with friends worldwide as it was promoted, first the guesting did not work for some months at all, now we’re cut into regions…

Thus: Guesting is great, but it could be even better!

I don’t remember the reason why, or even be able to find it but arena net had good reasons as to why they didn’t allow it. My suggestion as I have a few friends that did this ( which sucks cause I never get to play with them ) is you should have made your home server on a EU server instead of NA. I know it is to late now but Arena Net had good reasons ( weather you agree or not ) as to why they didn’t do guesting this way.

I would love to be able too! I know so many people on the NA servers and can’t join them

I’d love to see this too but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

Unfortunately the way our server architecture is set up and the way our back end data structure is set up, it’s just not something that is feasible for us from a standpoint of providing a top quality experience.

In the very Beginning many Players made friends with people all over the world and benefit from the fact that they could play with each other despite the fact of their home Server. Friendsships that already made it hard to decide on which side of the atlantic their final Home should be.
There was no optimal solution because we all had to left friends on the other side of the world. THe only thing we could hope for was the vross atlantic geusting but our hopes didn’t verify. Knowing that the new system would be different from guild wars 1 we still hoped that the greatest advantage – to play with player all over the world creating and maintain friendships over spacial distants – would be reoccur. Instead we have friends devided by a schism that had us made the terrible decision to chose which of them we will see in the future, which we will be able to play with and which others we could only talk to.
The main experience of an MMOG is the shared fun of playing. the interaction and the shared success.
it’s a terrible fate we’ve met although we did know about it from the start.
Would there be any chance to guest between EU and NA server even with restriction i’m sure there would be moe than a few players that would gladly accept these limitatiojns just to met their friends again and share some time with them.

i support this idea

I play on Tarnished Coast (NA) and I was absolutely crushed to learn I would not be able to play with my friends from the EU side when the specifics of guesting was announced. Some of us have been playing together since the Guild Wars 1 rollout, and it’s painful to be split up like this.

I would love it if Anet could create a server with no WvW or PvP or guild-creation abilities that anyone from anywhere could guest on.
