Guild Bank Improvements - More than a pantry

Guild Bank Improvements - More than a pantry

I’ve been in a few guilds and I’ve noticed their guild banks are filled almost exclusively to the brim with food items and the occasional cheap crafting material or minor rune.

I realize the main reason people avoid stashing better items is because they fear one of the more selfish members might take them out just to sell or salvage them. Another is they’re afraid of a newly added member looting the place and running off.

My suggestion is to give guild leaders bank options they can set to allow better moderation of the bank. Here are some example options they could have:

  • Soulbound on Aquire: This makes items soulbound to the member withdrawing them. This would remove the scenario of a member taking items just to sell them on the Trading Post. This setting would make these items unsalvageble as well. A prompt would come up letting them know this and confirming the withdrawal.
  • Weekly Limit: Sets a limit to how many items or stacks of items any member can take from the bank each week. This is to prevent any single member from grabbing too much gear, even if they plan on using it, so that others have a chance to benefit from other member’s generosity.

These settings should be able to be customized for each of the three different bank stashes.

I realize something like this is most likely a long ways off and might not even be possible with the current framework , but it’s something to keep in mind to extend the usefulness of guild banks beyond a large pantry.

Feel free to suggest additional settings to address any other possible unsavory scenarios or that might extend the usefulness/functionality of the guild bank.
