Guild Wars 2

Something I’ve noticed that’s missing from GW2 that was in many other mmo’s I’ve enjoyed, is a separate officer chat channel to allow officers and the guild master to discuss guild related things without having to all be int eh same party together or what not. (Which can be inconvenient at best and impossible if you happen to be a larger guild with a dozen officers)

A simple /O officer channel would simplify life greatly, and make it easier for people to manage guilds. (yes there’s vent/TS chat rooms, but not every guild uses chat programs, and for those that do, it can be much easier to have a discussion in chat then listen to a half dozen people all trying to speak at once over voice.)

I was surprised this wasn’t in the game either. There is just some conversations or event planning that doesn’t need to spam up the main guild channel. Any tools that make it easier to run a guild are a good thing.

I know my guild uses Skype for their officer chat, it’s free and you don’t automatically go into voice chat.

Although this sounds like a good thing to have.

It’s really kinda sad we have to use 3rd party programs for functions that could be in game and are in most modern day MMO’s. Just like having to use a 3rd party voice program to coordinate multiple groups…. having a commander pin up negates any possibility of private grouping and all we have is VoIP.
