One problem my guild has with events each week is that there’s always a few people getting stuck behind when the doors close during guild puzzles, whether from having some difficulty with a part, just trying to catch up if we clear an area real fast, or even a mesmer who might have gotten locked out while heading back to help someone with a jumping portion.

A solution a lot of us in the guild have mentioned wanting is adding a lever or button on the other side of the door that can be opened by those who completed it so those who are trapped behind can rejoin the rest of the group.

I’m surprised I didn’t see this in the suggestions sub forum already (I did a search, but it came up with nothing).

I disagree with this suggestion. But would rather suggest to make a guildpuzzle instanced for the guild. The reason is that it requires everybody’s effort to get the personal AND the guild reward. It shouldn’t be that people who put no effort into it get their reward for free.

Thats why we have an important rule in our guild and that is to WAIT. If you rush ahead without waiting, therefor closing the door for others, you can expect a serious talk with one of the officers. This solves the issue of people missing out.

However! We had several times that people from other guilds came in together with us cause there are not enough guildpuzzles. and a guild can claim access for 30 minutes. So often you have to share. In those situations our internal rule to wait for eachother is worthless.

I do not see why we should be forced to share the area where it is supposed to be a guildactivity.

So make them instanced (but not limited to 5 people obviously). And establish a rule in your guild to wait. Help eachother by shouting the door is open. in all chatchannels (and voip solution).

Take for example the puzzle in snowden (the most common situation).

Step 1: some jumping
Step 2: arrival in the room with the ‘geysers’. Everyone waits till the whole guild is there
Step 3: solving the geyser puzzle, as soon as the door op message comes, everyone runs.
Step 4: some jumping
Step 5: arrival at the ice walls. Everyone waits till all did Step 4
Step 6: doing the icewalls
Step 7: some jumping
Step 8: the big lizzard room, everyone waits before going in (to prevent it getting stuck its actually recomended to have only 10 people in the room, the rest waits till the door is open.
Step 9: everyone get sthe chest

So waiting for each other solves your problem, but please make it instanced so we are with people we can kick if they refuse to wait.
