Guild Wars 2 compared to other MMO’s I think it’s amazing it beats any I’ve played on various levels especially looks and combat. But has it lost what made it unique to other MMO’s?

My favorite part to Guild Wars original was also one of it’s most unique features. The player party in Guild Wars you didn’t just play a character you played a group of characters even heroes fully customizable by the player.
My second favorite part was the nearly limitless skills to choose from allowing your play style to truly be unique and truly strategic which played perfectly with the heroes and being able to adjust them to best suit your play style further.

I acknowledge that the changes you made were needed in order to make the game more open and to utilize other qualities of other MMO’s my only concern is this game no longer is Guild Wars at least in it’s essence.

I enjoy this game very much but it is sad that some of the things that made Guild Wars such an amazing and truly unique game had to be dropped entirely and I would love to see some of those qualities make a comeback!

Suggestions to do this:
Allow either all player to have a single NPC party member strictly for questing that must be built up and equipped by the player. Or make special instances that allow the players to use NPC’s they created and see how well they can do with said party.
Another idea is simply to keep adding skills and possibly even more weapon skill customization simply to increase options available to players.

I miss those aspects from Guild Wars 1 also. I am okay with the way Guild Wars 2 is though. Hopefully they would add more skills or allow us to have npc heroes again.

New skills introduced that aren’t supported by a player’s gear and trait commitment won’t be used anyway.

The NPC sidekick idea is nice though. If the NPC can be customized as easily as the heroes in GW1 could. It would allow some diversity in playstyle when you need it.

Granted more skills are always welcome but we can do without the hero system. To a certain extent heros ruined GW1 when they were introduced with EoTN and Nightfall . What made GW1 so great was getting to know its cast and the memorable cut scenes ( something GW 2 lacks as a whole ).
