Guild Wars 2

I have two wishes;

1 – Guild chat will not disappear when switching character.
It’s really annoying when one switch character and misses a couple of lines of chat, and one cannot follow up on the previous chat since it all becomes a clean slate. Is it that difficult to keep chat when one is switching characters? Would be very greatful if this matter was looked into.

2 – Shared guild chat with Allies.
With the Guild Missions our guild has some allies and it would be very helpful and more social to have a shared guild chat instead of having to represent the other guild.
Just like choosing whether one wants to have party, map, whisper, emotions etc being visible in chat window, it could be the same for guild chat if one wants to participate in allied chat or not.
For example:
[Main Guild] Name of character1: Heey
[Allied 1] Name of character: What’s up!
[Main Guild] Name of character2: Good evening
Etc…

I have heard that there was something like it in GW1. Could it be possible?

I agree that guild chat would be better if it didn’t wipe all the text. Map/say/party/whisper chats don’t, why can’t guild; it would make things a little better for those of us who are alt aholics

the “alliance” chat would be waay too much and overall a waste of time for Anet. Most people are loyal to 1 guild as it should be.

The alliance chat would be quite a mess if people are in different guilds talking to each other.

To other people it would seem like a one sided conversation which could also lead to misunderstandings when people think that someone responded to them when they actually responded to something they don’t see.

I would agree that the guild chat shouldn’t disappear when you are changing to an alt character, considering all other chat remain in the chatbox. I never really get why its only the guild chat and not the other chat that this event occurs. I would assume this might have to do with the player’s ability to change to any of the guilds he or she joins.

I can somewhat agree it could be confusing with one sided conversation. On the other hand, some of us in guild uses TS. Sometimes people answer in guild chat what people in TS are saying (such as when there is no mic etc) making it a one sided converstion for everyone who’s not on TS – and that has worked fine anyway.

True, being loyal to one guild is what I would like to be. But my guild I’m in has decided to help smaller guild(s) because we want to be nice and build community. If it could be solved in some kind of way making communication easy in game that would be helpful.

I am glad that more people want to keep guild chat while changing characters. It’s strange that it has been like this for so long but not been changed. :^)
It would be nice if it could be changed, if that should not be any problems.
