Hi there.I’d like to make a suggestion regarding guilds and the rewards system.I dont know if a relevant post has been made but i couldnt find one.My suggestion derives from the problem of been in a small guild and how not small guild friendly is gw2.my friends and i were “forced” joining a large guild ,cause we couldnt have all the buffs up,all of the time.So my suggestion is to make the amount of influence needed for the guild buffs scale, according to number of players a guild has.if lets say a guild of 100 people need 100 influence to get a buff running a guild of 10 should need 10.also this works the other way around.huge guilds should strungle to get the influence. So a guild of 500 shouldnt need 500 influence ,for the same buff mentioned above, but 1000.i think a mechanic like this would be a great move for all players out there ,who love being in small guilds.

ps.i dont know how the new feature of guild missions work ,as i havent tried them out yet,but a similar scaling could be implented there also.

I am the leader of a guild with 175 members. The members of my guild are welcome to multi-guild, I am happy to have members of my old Guild Wars 1 alliance on my roster, I have formed a cooperative relationship with another smaller guild so that their members can represent AI for the sake of guild bounties and then represent their home guild for regular play.

My guild allows the individual player the freedom to represent the guild they wish, when they wish. We are open and welcoming to players who can only spend a short amount of time on weekends or in the evenings, and maybe only play once or twice a month as their time permits. They don’t have to worry about being kicked out of the guild because they haven’t signed in recently. Do you really believe that my guild members should be penalized in the amount of influence they earn because of the number of members on the roster?

I completely understand your frustration with the costs of the bounties, buffs, bonuses, etc. and I understand that the way the Guild Missions have been implemented is very hard on small guilds. I hate it for you and for every small guild in the game. But, let’s work at getting A-Net to make the influence and missions more accessible to small guilds, instead of making them less accessible to guilds who have an open door policy.

imo what you describe is not a guild.my definition of guild is a group of ppl ,that like playing together, chatting, exploring under the same banner that destinctions them from others.Represent button was the biggest mistake anet made with gw2.guilds now dont have personalities .they are a sum of ppl just getting together for the buffs and rewards ,that big guilds provide.btw i dont want anyone to be penalized.i am suggesting scaling as the most fare system.doesnt mean its the farest.

Really? I defy anyone in this game to come into my guild and spend just an hour and say that we don’t have personality, care about each other, enjoy playing together, know each other. We do. Your definition of guild is very shallow. I have never had one person in my guild say they are going to go play somewhere else for the sake of the buffs another guild provides. That isn’t what matters to most people. People matter, and there can be more than one group that a player enjoys.

Different people have different groups/circles/networks and AI is one part of that. No one group that I enjoy playing with has to be shunned because I enjoy a second group as well. No guildie has to be done away with because they also like playing with a different group or doing different things. This isn’t a marriage — it’s a game. Play where you want, when you want with who you want. Including a second (or fifth) guild.

i didnt say that YOU dont have personality.i said the guilds dont have.and believe me i know tons of ppl joining a huge guild only for the buffs or guild missions.most of the guild actually advertise these things to gain even more members.of course ppl can enjoy multiple parties of people to play the game with.but you can have a friend list or even the guest system of gw1.this hybrid imo failed to achieve anything and created more problems.

I tend to agree with Aye. It’s easy to have a lot of members on the roster that only play in the guild occasionally, for dungeons or events, and are active in other guilds for a lot of the time. Or who have jobs and real life and play occasionally. If scaling were introduced, we would just have to kick everyone who didn’t play daily. That’s rather harsh.
