Guild Wars 2

I have been playing GW2 since the beta’s, I enjoy the game and love the fact they are improving it and adding new content every 2 weeks, but I get on and look for something to do with my guild each day and the list is run a dungeon or fractals.. maybe pvp some and roam around in WvW. I believe the first gw the heart of that game was that it had something for guilds to do, something that gave guilds a spirit a reason to be apart of. it. If they could just add a cool GvG feature to the game and have it where it’s strategic and give the guild pride. It could be very fun and something to look forward to and would address the issue of having end game. I hope the dev’s seriously decide to implement this into the game and soon, because “guild wars” has no…. guild wars as the first one did. WvW is decent but it needs to be worked on more so guilds feel more apart and more rewarded for being out there.

Just go to obsidian sanctum now. They added a perfect spot for GvG’ing and dueling only where bloodlust also doesn’t occur.

as nice as it might be I doubt we’ll see GvG before Halls and Lyssa only knows when that’ll be

Because the arena is a makeshift solution. People can still troll matches, there are no official rules, no leaderboards etc. The fact that they have added an area where GvG is possible, does not mean they have implemented it in a reasonable manner.

There not being official rules is often good, because in a lot of cases the “official” rules are simply bad.

Tell me, how would you even implement a “leaderboard” for GvG? What criteria would it be measuring? And how would you prevent a PvE guild from trolling the board by taking a top spot by “beating” their sister guild? How would you prevent it from turning into a massive pot of elitism, where only the top handful of guilds are regarded with respect and anything less are “baddies”?

Make it like Gw1 that is all

GvG in the sense of something for guilds to do together? yea cool.
GvG as in the game mode they had in GW1? no, it’s incompatible and would be bad. Then everyone who wanted it will cry that “Arena Net ruined GvG!!!1!!” when the reality is that it wasn’t particularly feasible in the first place do to GW1 and GW2 being very different types of games.

There are rules set in place by the GvG community which are enforced and any guild found to be in breach of those rules will face its consequence. As for guilds fighting its sister guild to climb the ranks has yet to happen, although there was a american guild (name I can’t remember) was caught fighting a single guild multiple time to increase its rating and they were called out on their shenanigans and shunned by the GvG community.
Elitism is a none issue atm. Top guilds are regarded with respect and have never come across another guild disrespecting another because of their position on the leaderboard.
