Gw1 (Nostalgia) Event
I do miss Guild Wars 1, and as much as I would love the chance to spend a month reliving the lore of that game, I am trying to figure out how it would fit into the lore of this game. Living Story, Southsun, the Dragon Festival, etc. all have a purpose in the game’s lore. What would be the purpose of sending players (other than for that nostalgia) back to Guild Wars 1? Or, rather, what would be the purpose of sending characters back to Guild Wars 1? So this would need to somehow fit into GW2 lore.
The Asurans would probably be the only ones who could handle the portals. I’m not sure if time travel has ever been experimented on successfully in the Guild Wars Universe, but we then would need to find a reason why the Asurans would be experimenting on time travel, why they would allow other players to go through these portals… Or is it an experiment gone awry? Then, of course, we would need some kind of combination plot inside of the old Guild Wars. I would love love love to see this if it could be implemented properly.
Sweet thanks for your thought about this subject.
How would it fit? I didnt think about that, but ofc something to do with dragons
?
Good idea. For the portal, the asura may not need time travel because the mist handle all of that. So they may have discovered a temporary opening into the mists that echo that time.
Im about to cry, more thoughts please! To make this story complete why it would fit in gw2!
Awesome idea’s
!

Good point!
Though I had just thought of another question: It would be very interesting, and perhaps very uncomfortable, for Charr to play these events because I could not see any of the humans that would likely assist with the missions being accommodating to Charr players. There could probably be a work around for it. I’m just full of questions, with no coherent answers. :P
I was actually thinking the same thing. I see two ways of going about it.
We could all play as human and charr: For this we get to play as either humans and if charr, we could play as the other high legions trying to undermine Flame Legion controle as they engage in the war with humanity. Or even touch on the other aspects of the period that had nothing to do with the invasion of ascalon. Like what else were the charr engaged in as the humans were running around canthi and elona?
or we could be out own race while a-net gives us glimpses into more detailed history of the races at the time. Though this would be problematic for sylvari since they didn’t exist at the time.

Being able to play as a Charr and see life on the other side would be very fun, and probably enlightening.
If we do a GW1 Nostalgia event, can we please ride the worms?
