Gw2 Armory?
It would be a nice idea for the future.
It’s relatively easy to do it, but I can see it being resource intensive and potentially open to vulnerabilities.
The flip side is stalkers, do people really want to have other people look at their gear and builds?
It sounds like a great idea for the future…after more crucial things are done.
“Let me show you my pokemons! Let me show you!”
Are there people over the age of 12 who really care about your MMORPG toons?
I also want an armory, not to show off my character but to look at others and their gear. I encouter alot of players who are wearing something I find interesting and if there would be an armory I could look them up and see what that item was.
I believe an online armory would be very helpful because then I would be able to do some planning ahead for my character while I am away from my game (ex: at work and I am on my break). I would like to see my character’s:
1. Equipment and their stats
2. Skills and traits with stats on each of them.
3. Crafting level and available crafting recipes.
I would be okay with them just having an account armory where you can only view your character’s armory.
I am very into this either, I guess that’s a beautiful idea. So you could watch your character if you’re not at home and already check out what to do next in the game. On the other hand you even had a better relation to your character and guildie ones.
I’m kind of surprised this feature isn’t around already, it’s very useful for a myriad of reasons and I’d hate to see the game remain without it. For instance; I was getting thrashed by another player in sPvP the other day and really wanted to see what kind of build they were using, so I went to look for their character profile, only to discover that I can’t see someone’s gear, spec, achievements ect. outside the game (that I can find, point me in the right direction if I’m wrong here).
It’s a real disappointment. I found this feature to be a great community builder in my time on WoW and I’d love to have that place to link people back to my toon as well as checking out the toons of friends and guildmates.
it would be really “didactic” for noobs like me…to learn new builds, stat priority, preferred skills.
I don’t think this will happen since you all have pointed out why it isn’t here already.
“Inspecting”
ANet is avoiding any type of gear inspecting to curb elitism.
Lady Alexis Hawk – Main – Necromancer
Ravion Hawk – Warrior
I think it would be helpful yea.For many reasons beside inspecting.
it’s a good thing to help casual player like me not to be “discriminated”
but at least know players’s characters classes..or your own char without logging..would be useful
I don’t think it’s needed. I don’t really see the point. If you want ideas on gear, traits, etc. there are plenty of websites for that.
Players don’t need to be abused by others because they aren’t traited they way someone else wants them to be, or geared, or using stats that someone else thinks they should be using.
It completely removes individuality and forces you into what others think you should be doing.
Then the name calling of terribads, baddies, noobs and everything else starts.
The Developer’s time can be better spent somewhere else.
The Armory is one of the worst things about WoW’s online features.
