I feel like, and I’m not the only one, I’m not appropriately rewarded for my efforts in GW2. That’s why many people is already getting bored of it (I mean, GW2 was SO SO waited and longed for, and people is already getting bored of it after few months of release. That’s quite a record for a new MMORPG).

I always hated farming, I always hated killing the same enemies over and over to get to max level, I always hated running thousand times a dungeon just to get a small chance to drop what I wanted.

When I read GW2 features before beta, my eyes shone so much, even reading about WvWvW. Now that I play it, I must say that the key ideas went WAY WAY too far! GW2 is really too easy:

- You don’t have to walk anywere, you can teleport in any moment, asura portals don’t have any purpose
- When you die the only problem is with the small amount of silver required to repair your armor
- Dungeons don’t require any kind of particular ability to finish. If you are a noob party, you take 4 times the time to finish it, but YOU STILL FINISH IT.
- Farming some kind of dungeons is way too fast: citadel of flame is truly a joke, it’s easier to get an exotic armor rather than a rare armor!
- WvWvW doesn’t make you feel a hero, it just makes you feel part of a amorphous mob that randomly press skills around waiting for a side to win over the other side.
- WvWvW and guild buffs (% exp, karma etc.) are also a joke, since the game is SO EASY that you don’t really need any of those buffs, so you don’t feel the need to partecipate in it.

I remember, before leaurels, i was very careful NOT to get any daily achiement every day, cause they gave me SO MUCH EXP that made me feel: “Oh no, i made another level up without even finishing my zone, this way I will reach 80 in 2 weeks”.

I appreciate the idea to make everyone able to play it and to get the final equipment, even casual player. But I AM a casual player, I barely play 1 hour a day, and I already have 2 players full exotic lv80 and I’m making a third one, usually incredible in any other kind of mmorpg.

MY SUGGESTIONS ARE:
- You must be near a waypoint to teleport around, you can’t just open your map and teleport wherever you are as if you were in matrix. It makes you loose all the “being part of the world” feeling.
- Old school resurrection sickness when you die or something similar to make you actually say a small “oh no!” when you die. I sometimes die on purpose because it’s faster to die and teleport back rather and loose aggro and teleport after: this is ridiculous.
- No exp gain from achievements.
- Longer&harder citadel of flame path 1 and the other short exp paths.
- You must use asura portals to get to WvWvW and sPvP zone. Remove the teleports from interface. I usually prefer going to WvWvW for free just to repair/sell/mystic forge/trading post rather than going back to a city. This also makes gems utilities useless.
- Put a mystic forge and WvWvW/sPvP portals in every big city, so the racial cities have finally some purpose at lv80

i agree on putting the stuff that is in lions arch also in racial towns.
lions arch is often overflooded with people derping in 1 place but you have to be there in order to get the stuff you want.
i like rate sum if it wasnt for the asura (in general i dislike asura) and the lack of stuff i need that is only in lions arch

I don’t play to grind for hours. I play to have fun. Games should never be a second job for people.

I don’t play to grind for hours. I play to have fun. Games should never be a second job for people.

i also agree on dungeons being to easy without having any thought out into the players THINKING it trough before picking teammates and what class they take with them (except for arah and such where only zerk warriors get chosen)
have some use for different classes the engineer is so supressed

The problem lies in you cant please everyone, there are a rather large number of casual players out there that again just want to have some mind numbing fun and not work terribly hard at it. If you made some content take say the living story to hard even for “noob” groups then not everyone would get to enjoy that part of the game.

As for the portal I see 2 parts:
1) Starting a new Toon you want them to have to travel all though the map (some of witch are higher zone just to get to other start zones. (Also its part of GW history from GW1)
2) Help with cost for some, yes you can instant travel around the map via WP (also something from GW1) but it dose take more gold the higher lev. and as not everyone has a large pile stashed around all the time its nice also adds to the neat look of the game. Also from a working parent the ability to quickly travel to zones is nice as for myself I only have a finite amount of time to play and like to maxims my game time. But if you want to walk everywhere no one is stooping you to add the “hard” aspect.

The port to PVP or WvWvW in LA seem nice however you don’t want the already someone lag city to be to overtaxed thus why you can enter from anywhere…but still have to return to LA…so in the end i guess this work lol.

Anyway that my two bits to this take it or leave it but this is form the perspective of a casual working parent.

I see people doesn’t really understand me. I complained that everyone can make exotic things, but in the suggestions I NEVER said to make it only for hardcore, i just said to make cof p1 a bit longer and harder, as the other exp paths! Still quite easy, don’t you think?

Second, I said I HATE FARMING, I left WoW and other similar mmorpgs just for the time spent in doing totally useless things. Here i said just to make you walk near a waypoint to make you able to teleport anywhere, how much time will it take? 1 more minute of your precious time?

This is just to make you feel at least part of the world, and not like if you’re in matrix.

If WoW is hard 10/10, GW2 is hard 2, i’m just saying “make it hard 3”

Your right about the difficulty. its not hard at all at i doubt if anyone gets a sence of archievment. like i done this dungeon. Maybe at first but then its all to easy.
Would like bosses with a few mechanics you really have to do something.
Or put a hard mode in for the guys who want that stuff. for the normal people well the normal dungeon as it is now.

Both parties happy i say.
Maybe in the hard mode different gear drops (skins).

Also for the somewhat harder dungeons they hardly every do like CoF p3. they dont do that since that asked alot of teameffort. i guess you should put some extra skins there as well. for people to run that last one as well. now they think no not p3 its to hard and the risk isnt worth it. and they are right. why do it? the extra time. i dont see any casual or hardcore go in there with a pug. its Always p1 and p2.
Anyways i would like to see gw2 a little harder.
