It would be really nice to be able to change the character hair style and color, as it happens in real life, visiting an hair stylist NPC and paying a little fee (something like 50c-1s) to get the style change.

A barbershop basically? I’m kind of surprised this isn’t in the game already but I wouldn’t be surprised if it will be eventually.

I fully support the idea of a barbershop in-game. When I played WoW I was always changing my characters’ hair. I enjoyed having the freedom to change my hair color and style at anytime for a small amount of gold.

I also support complete character re-customization, and wouldn’t mind paying RL money for this service. However, I would like the barbershop to only cost in-game money. 50c-1s suggested by the OP would be a good price.

They will already do this in time. GW1 has it’s own stylist which lets you change your appearance. It would make no sense if they didn’t implement the same thing into 2.

Suggested and supported this and similar ideas on all BWE forums and I’m still 100% behind this idea. Hair stylist / barber NPC would be awesome and also follow the philosophy of the game which is about appearance and customization of your character looks.

At the very least I’d love to see a way to change the colour of hair accessory. If you chose a hairstyle with one of those you are always stuck with that colour and that often limits which colours you can use on your armour without looking ridiculous.

I’ve played several RPGs and seen this done a lot. GW2 will probably get this feature eventually.

I agree. I’d love to be able to customize my character, as one hairstyle might get old after a while. I’d also like to see complete re-customization available in the gem store. I’d also pay for additional hair styles, either through the gem store or through in-game currency.

It’s odd this wasnt around at launch, Given that you COULD change your characters style in GW1 (Albeit, Through the real currency store)
My only theory would be it’s slightly more complicated, because of two things;
It either buggers up your personal story
Or it’ll lead to people wanting more, including race changes, which WILL screw up the story.
Offer people a finger, and they want your whole hand these days..

So much this. I really want to be able to redo a characters face/hair.

I’ve been wanting to change the look of the character but have no means to do it. And yes, I’m willing to pay money for it. Make it happen please Anet.

Yeah, there is a need for barbershops. I created my Norn with the hope that he could look more “Norn’ish” after collecting armors but I noticed after playing for a while that these items do not appear so often. This made me want to change the appearance so that the characters face fit his equipment a lot better.

I need to at least change the color of my headband with my own dyes. The colors available at character creation were very limited, and my character’s headband looks screwy with my armor color.

I would also limit barbershop changes to once per week or month (people doesn’t change hair style everyday).

About the race change, I don’t think it makes sense, unless you’ll be forced to restart your story from scratch.

Once a week or once a month? Why? Maybe I make it one day and don’t like it the next. Or maybe I just need to tweak it a bit after I change it the first time.

Seriously, it’s another gold sink. Let people spend what they want, when they want.

+1 – I completely forgot to customize my hair and I feel obligated to play PvP just so I can run around killing anyone who dares to look like my twin!
