Wouldn’t it be awesome to have some sort of a “hard mode”-setting for dungeons and general pve? I’m thinking something in the lines of lowering your lvl a few lvls extra, and letting this trigger the bonus loot you only get from killing higher lvl mobs.

So we get 4 greens instead of just 3?

GW 1 hard mode was simply amazing.

Due to the not instanced general PvE in GW2 I’m not sure how to implement that awesome feature here tho (clearing zones in a hard mode).

Just running around killing some a bit stonger mobs for a bit more loot sounds rather boring, and would make the “normal” mode rather obsolete.

well let’s say you get downleveld 5 lvls, it makes the content alot harder, you will need a good group of people working together. isn’t ta what alot of people want? hard group play, seems a easy way to implement it, and ofc better drops(named exotics of champions, when killed in HM?)

They said they wanted the whole game to feel like end-game, that’s why you’re downscaled in the first place, but as a fully geared character you easily kill every normal mob in the open world in less than a second (even the veterans in lower lvl areas)

The only way they could really implement a ‘Hard Mode’ is to have a toggle that debuff your character in terms of combat ability and buff in terms of XP, Karma, Gold ect, for example:

Debuffs

  • -5 Effective Level
  • Passive Health Degen in combat
  • Slower Endurance Recharge
  • Faster Downed State decay
  • +10% damage taken, condition and control duration on self, and cooldown
  • -10% damage dealt, crit chance, boon duration on self + condition duration applied

Buffs

  • +100% XP gain
  • +100% Karma Gain
  • +500% Coin Gain
  • +10% chance for Rare
  • +5% chance for Exotic

Numbers would obviously have to be balanced for appropriate risk/reward

if loot is much better and at least a rare in every single chest from dungeons then yes do want but if they increase already laughable loot by a little lol **** this ****.
