Hate lookin like the next guy
I made my thief look unique, and now I see a LOT of people copying my style. It sucks.
There are plenty of unique looking weapon and armor skins and there will likely be many more to come.
What I honestly hate though, is how everyone gravitates to the same armor/weapons rather than mixing up their look a bit. I mean, why do people think CoF stuff looks good? And that you can’t color the flames to something else is just another strike. The final strike is that practically everyone wears it along with the same played out color scheme (usually black, reds and/or white).
I’ve actually seen some pretty great looks that mix cultural and various other armors together quite well. One thing you want to try to do with mixed looks is to keep a similar texture across each piece to help unify it.
At least we can color it ourselves. Back before WoW had transmogrification, you’d have an entire city filled with people wearing absolutely identical armor. Personally I hated CoF stuff. I was/am always on the lookout for good looking stuff. I wear a mix of T2-3 cultural and some random greens I like. That’s one thing I liked about GW2 right off the bat. Being able to recolor gear easily and if I got an upgrade that was kitten ugly, I could easily transmog it since the stones are pretty easy to come by. I have 150 regular stones now, and they added up fast even on my first character.

You must not like Guild Wars 1 then, PVP may as well have been called Clone Wars. Everyone of the same class looked almost completely identical in every regard! That’s what to expect from A-net!
