Hey Anet ,
What I’d like to see is the logs for those events: is Guesting really the problem here or are players just rushing to the events on their own server because they are now worth doing?
After all, nowadays I don’t get overflow in Lions Arch; all those players must be somewhere else.
Does it realy matters if the events are worth doing or not ? Its about me getting kick to overflow ( that got no event at all ) because some guests are in the server I’m in with their alts to leech the chest !
This will remain a problem until some sort of ‘mega-server’ technology is invented. Imagine, a single sever that everyone can play on…together!

TESO is doing that. That will be an interesting experiment, to see how that works.

hmm I remember a game Dark and Light……that game lasted about up to the point they allowed all the preorders play……at once. I got a refund with in 30 min of logging on. /shiver
what a mess.

So it’s perfectly fine for you to attend these events, but when others do it they’re leeching? Sounds about right…

This is the selfish mindset of 50% of these forum goers. Get used to it.

Can you please fix guesting asap so someone who is guesting a server will be kicked if someone from that server want to enter that map ? I find it alot better dont you think ? My server get some hobos so i get overflow doesnt sound right , right ?
Early bird gets the worm …besides hobos actually work. Get your terms right .
Isn’t EVE one single world?
Mostly true. The Chinese server (Serenity) is a separate “world”, but that’s for legal/diplomatic reasons. You can find some statistics about server population here, if you’re interested. They also have public test servers.
One really important feature is time dilation – when too many players gather into one solar system (“map” or “instance” in GW2 terms), the server simply slows down the activity so that it can keep up. This isn’t quite the same thing as the skill lag that we see in GW2. Imagine if your character (and all other player characters, and all NPCs and mobs) moved half as fast, swung weapons half as fast, recharged skills half as fast, etc… EVE Online’s time dilation feature can go as far down as 10% of normal speed (e.g. during titanic fleet battles involving 1000 players). It works okay for a spreadsheets-in-space simulation game, but it would be pretty weird to see that sort of feature in a high-APM reflex game like GW2.

It was made far ago already: EVE Online.
