Hey Anet! Buying stacks.
16 hours is a huge exaggeration, given that enough potions to earn 400k karma (with karma booster) can be popped, the orrian jewelboxes bought, their potions used, and the process repeated until no karma is left…. in about 10 minutes.
That said, it still seems like a necessary feature that should have been implemented at launch, so +1.
A good idea to bring in “buy stack” or “buy set amount of”, rather than me just pretending to play guitar hero on my mouse for 16 hours. While am on this subject, how about an consume “set amount” too. Buying food, opening boxes and thirst slayer would be much faster, giving us more time to play your game.
/signed although I think your screenshot example is wrong. No one with over a half a million karma is going to blow it on 7 Karma bottles of Raven’s Best! I mean come on! :P

I ended up deciding to pay more for the Dragon Bash candy on the TP just so I wouldn’t have to sit at the vendor for hours clicking “buy” AND CONFIRMATION MESSAGES for 20k individual purchases.
Oh, and Thirst Slayer is giving me Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

They should have renamed the achievement line “Wrist Slayer.”
I bound doubleclick to my mousewheel for that. It makes buying stacks pretty fast.
Honestly buying 2000 each day gives you 8% per day. That seems like a good value.
You’re not supposed to do the achievement in 20 seconds. That wouldn’t be an achievement.
how long an achievement should last is not an excuse to not allow us to buy things in stacks.
there is a lot of things in this game that you need to buy more than 1 copy and the only way is double clicking or single clicking the buy button, and for some of those items you also have to click on a confirmation button.
take the icy runestones as an example, it’s true that you don’t buy them every day, but this is not an excuse to make me click on a button and a confirmation pop up 100 times!! for a total of 200 clicks plus moving the mouse to the pop up

How about moving the “Vendor” buy dialogue, so you can just spam press buy/accept.
Someone say game crash must be related to OOM
when you read the log it’s not related to that whatsoever…
How about moving the “Vendor” buy dialogue, so you can just spam press buy/accept.
When you buy 250items you still need clik 500 times, if you dont have makro your mouse will die faster than normal…
the same problem with open/use items(like alkochol) so i like Cat idea.

Freak was talking about the vendors which ask if “you are sure to buy this”. You can’t spam doubleclick there but have to agree at each item. To “bypass” this, you move the vendor window above the “are you sure” dialogue, so that when you doubleclick the dialogue pops up under the mouse and a third click would agree. Here you need at least 3 clicks per item … and additionally a bit time for lag.
there are solutions, but it’s not the ultimate solution to buy a desired quantity of said item

I… actually don’t see why not, at least insofar as purchase. Stack-splitting and crafting menus both already have a “quantity selection” installed. Just apply the same to purchase of stackable items. (Non-stackables stay one-per.)
As for USE of the items…. I don’t think it’s needed. If you want to drink 250 tankards of Raven’s Best all in an instant, then it should also apply an instant death, due to the alcohol poisoning. It should also remove all your armor, to simulate the most likely way you’d wake up in your inebriated state.
No. When it comes to item use, I can handle clicking. But bulk purchases, that would definitely be nice.
So you think instantly buying 250 drinks of alcohol and puttign them somewhere into your little rucksack is normal, but drinking 250 drinks of alcohol instantly is not ??
Seriously, come on! if one of the both things gets ever imlemented to make the game more comfortable as it should be, then they should also implement both ways and not only one way.
I’ve maxed all three consumable titles on GW1. (And gotten rank 1 on some alts.) I know how much clicking is involved. Neither my finger nor my mouse have broken.
I’m conceding bulk purchase because it IS something many games have. No reason to deny GW2. But bulk use? Do any other games have that, at all?
I can completely imagine the conversation between the vendor and the player character.
“Hey! I’d like to buy 100 Icy Runestones.”
“Sorry, only selling one at a time.”
“Err… okay. Give me one.”
“Are you sure? These things are like super expensive at one gold per stone, and only used to craft legendary weapons.”
“Yes I know that. I’m going to craft one and I need 100 Icy Runestones, among a lot of other stuff. Just give me that.”
“Alright then. There you go, one Icy Runestone for one gold. Anything else?”
“Yes. I still need 99 more.”
“Sorry, only selling one at a time.”
“You said that already. Just give me the next one.”
“Are you really sure about that? It’s one GOLD per stone!”
“NnnnngrrrlllllAAAAAARRGGH!!”

HehHeh, nice
What if they made one Vendor Bag Tab for buying a single item and making the next Tab for buying a stack of the item (maybe, perish the thought, at…a…bulk-discount).
Now surely this does not work for the Icy Runestone reference above, since you only need 100 at a time instead of 250 but since Rojan the Penitent has the where-withal to corner the entire market at the current time, you would think he is smart enough to make his bulk purchase amount 100. Then the conversation would go something like this:
“Hey! I’d like to buy 100 Icy Runestones.”
“That will be 96 Gold, That work for you?”
“Yoooou bet ya, make it so .”
“Pleasure doing business with you.”
My workaround for this was to set a Double Click macro on my mouse that once toggled it would continually double click until I pressed the button again. Took about an hour for Thirst Slayer and I barely clicked at all.

are you sure?
oh god yes yes yes!!!
538… and so on
If you go to the Monastery in Queensdale, you can get drinks that cost 28 karma instead of 7, that count for 4 drinks each, instead of one! So you can get the title 4x faster.
It’s still gonna take forever though.
“Physics will do the rest.”
‘’ buy stack ’’, ‘’ buy amount of ’’, ‘’ consume amount of ’’ we really need those +1
