Hide Chest Piece
I totally agree, although I’d prefer they just add bare-chest cultural gear for male norns. (Otherwise, here comes the large influx of half-naked human females… <_<) It would also allow the armor designers to add some nice accessories to the chest armor like bracers and tribal necklaces.
Besides, male monks from Guild Wars 1 had tons of bare-chest sets so why not in Guild Wars 2?
When it comes to females, what they should do is what they have done which is when you remove a chest piece is give them a bra(cover sort of). The idea is to show upper body, keep pants and shoes on. Give more fashionable ideas and personlly is one of the things that I love to do in GW2. I thought it would be a great idea, and if you share the same keep the post alive maybe we can make the dream come throught(if Anet actually care for out opnion).

hide chest piece, custom female upper inner wear, please.
Hello everyone, i know this post is old, but i need to say that there is nothing better than playing a Charr with no top, kinda feels like the way it should have been, especially for characters with tatoos, fur marks, etc,.. i think it would be awesome to have the ability to hide chest pieces, at least for male characters,.. until this is implemented, ill be playing without a chest piece hope they hear us out,..
Yes i’d like this. Especially for Norn and Charr.
edit: Yes and Sylvari.

don’t forget the Sylvari
The fact that we can’t hide chest piece is actually one of the things that’s kept me from playing a Charr. If I could, I’d have had him running around with hi black striped fur and nothing but his loincloth on, because it just looks better to me.
If one race is allowed to hide their chest piece but not the others, it’s just going to create more issues down the line. So as Deimos Tel Arin said, custom undergarments should be implemented (some in-game, with dye options, and I personally wouldn’t even mind if there were some fancier ones in the gem store as long as they’d be reasonably priced).
I really want this to happen,..
It would be neat!
vindictus (a F2P action mmo) has the underwear thing already, you choose your underwear and you can see it all the time.
so for instance you have one with a collar you can see the collar even with the armor equipped, quite nice for when you want to mix armors with it.
I really don’t care about underwear, nor am i aiming to have topless female characters running around, i just want my character to look cool, and because of (sorry to say this) the disgusting armor designs i want to get rid of the armor completely. See, its easier to ask for a “hide” feature than it is to ask for a complete armor redesign. My character (male Charr thief) looks so dull even in end game armor. So please, forget about underwear, and just add a hide feature that replaces the armor with what comes under it by default. thank you.
PS: i am trying really hard to fall in love with this game, and i like it, but i just can’t love it, and that is because i am person who like things to be artistic and original, and gw 2 has everything perfect except for armor, i mean, literally, if it had cool looking armors all throughout the game, i personally would never stop playing it.
I agree we need toggleable chest armour. I’ve got a couple of characters that’d look great with this feature. Especially for norn and sylvari heavies. I like the underwhere idea too as another customization option and as a way so female characters aren’t left out. Personally I’d like to see bandage wrapping as an undergarment.

I like this idea! For me, I’d appreciate more toggles for visibility. For chest, I’d like the pieces themselves broken down into selectable visibility zones. Even if it’s say just sleeves and centers to be a toggled.
For dyeable undergarments, yes… yes…. and more yes.
Considering all the effort it took just to get gloves to be toggleable, I wouldn’t hold your breath. I’ve been waiting for toggleable boots since beta.
