First of all English is not my native language, so bare with me!
I have always been a fan off challenges, if I fail, ill always try till I succed!
So the thing is, Im craving for a challenge in the PvE world, because I love PvE.
And now im not talking about dungeons at all, but more about a Map/zone that will challenge my skills. + there have to be some lore/a story behind it.
So here is my idea:
Backstory
Asuran scientists were researching and experimenting with their fast-travel gates to make them cover a longer range, they accidently opened a stable wormhole to another dimension/world.
They are now recruiting worthy explorers and heroes to help them gather information about this new unexplored world. Is it friendly or is it hostile?
This zone should be accessible through an extremly big/modified asura gate in Lions Arch, but to gain access to the gate you have to prove your worthiness to the Gatekeeper guarding the gate.
-He will tell you to find and present 5 great items before him. These items can be found across whole of Tyria with changing locations every day.
-One of these items will be a map you have to put togheter from map fragements spread across Tyria.
-Some of these items may be some poor champions dearest possession, so in order to retrieve it you have to either defeat the champion or do something for him to earn the item.
Once you have all items you have to present them before the Gatekeeper, he will then grant you permission to use the Super asura gate. But just before you enter, make sure you put on the awesome looking gate traveling goggles lying on the fuel boxes next to the gate.
On the other side you will find yourself inside a secret cave base, you will get voice-over instructions from the heavy armored Sergeant greeting you. Well now your primary mission is to find the missing exploring party, they were supposed to find more clues to help them translate the mystic tablets they found just a few days after stepping through the gate.. The only thing that could be gathered from these tablets so far, was an inscribed drawing of a great city.
-So what happen to the exploring party, did they get killed by unkown creatures populating the world? Were they captured? Did they find the city?
World/environment theme:
-Twisted green growth, crystals and cosmic energy flow. Huge levitating rocks,
Ruins/leftovers from the race/races populating the world.(like a huge battle had taken place here)
-Low atmosphere/you can easily see into space, and see eg. a meteorbelt surrounding the world.
-This world should have two suns, one regular sun and one purple sun that replaces the night cycle, instead there is a purple:ish darkness/shine reflected from the environment.
-This zone should have a cave/catacomb system beneeth it. And a cloud/sky level. There should be many levels/floors.
-There should be hidden passages for those who love exploring.
-The scale of the world should be really huge so you feel ridiculously small. This makes you feel that you are a part of something greater.
The Challenge:
-Complete your mission/missions
-There is only one waypoint and it is in the cave camp, if you die, you either waypoint or wait for a player to find you. So be careful out there!
-The mobs should be smart and hard to kill[skillful rather than high HP-pool], and no mob should be below the rank of a veteran. Veterans usally move in packs in this world.
-All mobs scale up to the appropriate scale of players around it, so you cant just rush the zone with a big zerg of players.
- There should be hidden bosses scattered around the world that the player can find by completing unoffical tasks like placing a rock on a platform or, by jumping up to a hard to get place to find a lever, or find and collect runestones that combines a key to unlock a portal/gate of somekind. And so on.
These hidden bosses are not for the faint hearted tho, they are extremly hard to kill and should require atleast 5+ people,
-There should be big bosses[easy to find] walking around in the world that would require atleast 15+ ppl to defeat.
-Every boss will drop loot that is uniqe to the boss you killed. Weapons, Armor, crafting materials, mission clues/items etc.
What do you think guys, is this a bad or good idea? Feedback is appreciated!
Would you add/change something?
