Sorry if this thread has been mentioned. Would like to see more done with your Home Instance. Is there really a point to it other than the couple parts of the story that take place there? I was excited prelaunch when they talked about every player having a collection of stuff as you progress in you home instance that would reflect your journey. All I see is a couple npcs with little to no dialog. And I’m level 80 and almost done with my story. Would love to see some creative ideas about it. Maybe offer players an instant port to it so not everyone is using the mists to go to Lions Arch for free. Maybe some mini games to get rewards. Maybe some banners to show accomplishments.

I had an idea about this…

So, through the course of the game, we get these accessories. They give us bonuses, then we get better ones with better bonuses and we switch out the old ones.

Thing is, a lot of these accessories have a singular character, and shouldn’t that be preservable somehow? Also, some of them can have sentimental value. They can represent important moments in your character’s story or memorable experiences had in the world.

For example, my norn Thief is still carrying around her Raven totem that she got at level 2, even though it became useless stat-wise a long time ago. She’s not likely to give up her Owl totem either. And why would my Engineer toss away the amulet she received when she was inducted into the Vigil? It was a proud moment.

So, my idea was to introduce trophy cases to the home instance. We’d be able to put certain accessories into these cases, and a graphical representation would then show up. Like, for example, a Raven totem could translate into a little raven statue.

There could even be plaques for each case, on which the player could write a description of the trophy.

Also, conceivably, certain trophies could confer minor bonuses, which would give those people not really interested in the RP aspect a reason to collect them.

Not a very fleshed-out idea, but an idea all the same. I do think the home instance should feel more homey.
