How about having Underwater WvW?
Rangers are absolutely unkillable unerwater with pet ressing, so that would have to be fixed.
I love speargun on my thief u/w though, 3D mobility is awesome
How about implimenting everything we have on wvwv land to underwater.. with new twists, like having a huge sea creature (ram) the underwater gates etc…
It is obvious underwater combat is reserved for Pve, but I think underwater wvw combat would fit here perfectly.
I think this would be a great idea and would add ‘new dynamics’ and ‘new birth’ to the ideals of wvw.
What do you think?
Most people hate underwater combat, it’s just not fun to swim around half as good as you could be, it’s like as soon as you go underwater, you lose half your potential, hows that fun?
Also I could only see this working if they added 1 underwater keep to each BL excluding EB.
And as of right now, it wound never be contested because, well people don’t like underwater combat, hence why most people don’t chase into the water haha, you know it’s true

This has to be a troll thread. I have never anyone ever heard anyone say they like underwater combat. And rightfully so considering the imbalance and faceroll nature.

While underwater combat is more tolerable in this game than some other MMO’s its still not all that fun for many players and even entire professions. Melee type underwater weapons are nearly useless on a moveing target religating them to PVE where the mobs tend to not move too much. As to the ranged options not every proffession is created equal in that reguard. My warrior for example feels beyond kitten useing the spear gun unless I build specificly for it which in turn leaves me dangerously weak on the surface. Several strong land builds work ok with the spear but as stated its extreamly difficult to hit anything with melee range attacks that dont stick you to the target.
On the other hand there are several proffessions that can build to be pure murder under the water in PVP. Unless many issues are addressed with UW combat I really dont want to be forced into it aside from the occasional stragler that runs away into the water to be chased down.
Hey underwater combat is fun! If you’re a Ranger or Mesmer :p
it would be a funny way to “nerf thieves” since we all know thieves can’t swim. But that aside, underwater wvw would be like a whole new game. All the towers would have to be redesigned somehow so we don’t just swim over the wall :p :p
If they took the time to balance underwater combat, then yes that seems like fun.

-All tower/keep/garrison float in the sky,Fall from wall = death.
-Road bigger and glass road,No earth no land all raod link stage togather, fall from road = death.
-Aircraft unti/Carry people fly to enemy castle,Fight on air board,Bomber,Assaulter etc…Bome enemy castle from above.
-More killing toy AA-gun,Flag cannon,Hook kiss(Hook enemy Aircraft to stay still and let our killing toy rib them)Fall from aircraft/Aircraft destroy = Death/all of you on aircraft death.
-Air to ground fighter Parachute on the top of building or Ground to Air fighter Jump pot to Destroy Enemy carrier engine from your building.
-Yak with a jetpack!!

Oh god no, please anet do not listen to this heretic. Since you do not listen to any of the posts here anyways, I’m not worried about it, but if you throw a dart at one thing on the years archive of suggestions to implement, make it not this.
The air combat thing above me does sound gg, but this engine isn’t built for it check out planetside 2 or the original Starsiege Tribes (which is free now)
I love the idea of an under water map, could implement the air map above as well i guess. Maybe with the underwater map, make it themed to like: The Ruined Temple of Dhuum.
The Temple would be the Keep
Large Altars would be the Towers
Graveyards would be supply tents
Beaches would be the default spawn points

Entirely under water, probably not, but having some underwater forts to take would be interesting. But yes, the fighting underwater would not be very balanced but then again a lot of land based fighting isn’t all too balanced either depending on the build and class. I would at least say it could be tested out via maybe some WvW-like PvP maps. Aka, a new PvP map that has players using siege as they would in WvW. Worth at least looking into to mix up the combat a little.

Not really unkillable so much as incredibly underestimated and actually viable.
On land, quite the opposite.
Let us have something, at least.
I think this is a decent idea.
I actually enjoy the underwater content as a guardian, but I might be weird.
My ele feels shortchanged on his elite though. Really should at least modify one other one of the elites to work underwater too.
