How death should be
That would make the game -very- easy, and you would be able to kill pretty much everything, if you were unable to die. Also imagine instances, how boring they would be if you couldnt die. I believe the Downed system is excellent and is like a “second chance”, instead of just immediately dying.
I’m sorry, is there a part of the game so hard and punishing as to warrant this? Warriors can already beat a champ right in the face and tank a ton of hits without even trying. There’s no way that should be easier.
Downed state is a great idea, though I do agree that they aren’t balanced very well between classes. The fighter and ranger’s downed states are a heck of a lot more useful than the Thieve’s – which is mostly useless when alone. (haven’t tried the other classes, so don’t know)
But the kneel and get back up thing? No, I don’ like dying any more than the next girl, but there’s gotta be some risk and some punishment or ya might as well not even let people die. (and I don’t wanna play that game)
So, a little rebalance would be super, but keep the mechanic – it’s different and it makes getting knocked down more fun than instakilling.
