How to All Make Dungeons Playable
Or just improve the loot tables for the mobs that are currently in the dungeons to make them worth killing since they have really really high health pools. Right now it ain’t worth anything to kill mobs (except for the risen on the stairs in COE) because they DON’T DROP ANYTHING WORTH THE TROUBLE.
This is something that has been raised many times but I don’t think loot tables are going to be implemented. I think ANet is heart set on slamming us all with RNG. The cash shop shows that. The best we can do is suggest small improvements to placate us until permanent new content is finally released.
Don’t get me wrong, RNG loves me. I just pulled my 2nd precursor from the forge yesterday (2nd one in two months), but those loot tables in dungeons are extremely low compared to PVE. I skip mobs in dungeons cause they aren’t worth the time and effort it takes to kill them.
Actually i think the way to aproach this is with rotating groups of monsters found in the dungeons. For example, after some weeks empty, some groups of bandits could get stablished in one dungeon. After the miniboss/group of bandits in that dungeon are defeated 30 times the bandits could “leave” that place, to be occupied by a clan of trolls. This could force the farmers not only to explore more but also will give a better “living world” feeling. Shouldn’t affect the game balance also.
This is an interesting idea and a good method of making the dynamic event system more dynamic. It’s unfortunate that the events are so stagnant because I feel as though the dynamic events are where ANet can truly take advantage of their mechanics and create something fantastic.
Unless they improve they loot tables making it worth the time/effort to kill them, I’ll skip those mobs too.
