How to solve the Orr grind and spread out players

…the zone is quite overcrowded at the moment…
Depends on your server I guess. I ran around for about 6 hours in Orr yesterday and only ever saw about 4 real people. The rest are all bots. I am on Gate of Madness and currently it is listed as a full server but no one is to be found in Orr aside from maybe K-trains.
I was thinking of the same problem, my solution is a bit different.
Once you get 100% for a zone an NPC for each city appears in a secure spot. The NPC’s will have 4-5 different heart quest that once you complete you get your standard exp, karma, cash PLUS a city token (since they don’t have faction) and the quest resets so you can do it again. The tokens can then be used in that city to buy items. Maybe an item is 50% crafting exp if in the city, maybe it is some racial food (like a Charrbroiled burger, Trail Mix, etc), could be gear, whatever. With this setup every zone is back in play for people and it does not funnel everyone into Orr – you can still farm your karma plus tokens in any zone you want.
Another person on another thread suggested Traveler’s Gifts like in GW1.
Every week an NPC would be in a different part of the world and players would collect a specific item in excange for Traveler’s Gifts, which contained things like Mini’s, Rare Skins ect.
If they implemented that but added additional items (say, 3 or 4 needed), and had Karma (amount would have to be enough to be an incentive), Money + Rare Skin / Legendary Material (Obsidian Shard, Ecto, Clover), it’d give players an incentive to leave to search out these materials.

@conifur: Sounds a bit like Nicholas the Traveller from GW1. Which is some kind of nice idea.
Even if you don’t want to associate heart quest with him, it could work like this: Every week he pops up in a different lesser travelled territory and asks for some specific trophies dropping there during his visit or some specific tasks which reward a trophy. Those should not be easily obtainable but require some amount of work, maybe even teamwork.
The trophies can be traded in for gifts, which are then again limited to a certain amount per week per account to prevent “overgrinding” of the content.
Doing this content together would also be a very good possibility for guild events in PvE!

In tharnished coast you can find a hundread people farmind the same events over and over again in orr, i changed to henge of denravi and couldn’t find more than 10 people on the same place. :P

That is absolutely ridiculous. Henge is listed as full and yet I’m lucky not to trip over a tumbleweed.
Where the hell is everyone who’s supposedly playing on this server?
i am on Henge, and i am karma farming in Orr. i think many players are, too. we have been losing WvW lately. so maybe they all moved to the current server winner for action.
