I know it is quite hard to satisfy us customers, I work in a similar industry. And I also know it takes some time to make the changes in fixes in a manner which is up to the quality standards that are needed to release it. So some of my suggestions are just quick Workarounds which could be implemented.

So you at Anet have chosen to base a large proportion of the endgame on getting your legendary. So people farming and grinding for the components in Orr, especially the Cursed Shore the whole day, the zone is quite overcrowded at the moment.

So here are some suggestions on this matter:

- The non-vet “trash” mobs in bigger sized events like Temple of Grenth and similar should get increased HP, so basically the HP of your mobs should be a function of the players in the area (like base HP + 2000HP*number of players+2000extra per each 10 players). During peak hours you have over a 100 of players doing such events in rotation and guess what, you don’t even get to see the mobs before they are down. This has no epic feel to it.

- Other Level 80 zones are definitely needed to get people out of the Cursed Shore. You can easily get to Level 80 without doing 100% of the world, in fact, even if you never have been in WvW 50-60% of map completition does the job fairly easy. So why not convert Frostgorge sound into a Level 80 territory?

- Since most of the population is grinding for their legendaries they have no incentive to visit lower level zones, because they simply don’t have the chance to get anything useful from the mobs there. So maybe put in some Level 80 lootbags with a certain drop chance (25% or 33%) from normal mobs, so they do get at least something in the process. Since you are scaled down this is still some kind of challenge and will not be overfarmed.

- While you need your time to fix dynamic events which are broken: An event tracking monitor: If an event is stuck for about 30 minutes in a single event step without progress, reset it automatically.

- More triggers which can be activated by players (like talking to an NPC) might prevent event chains from not getting started at all.

- Many people would go to another zone, if they knew the Meta event there is up and running and the have chance for an epic boss battle and a chest. So put level based loot into that meta event chests like with the dragons and put herolds in every other zone in Tyria, which inform the players, that there is something big going on in other parts of the world. Most players never experienced all the big battles in the starting zones or Mt. Maelstrom (epic volcano battle) because they simple don’t know when to port there! There are some player based websites to compensate this, but they are very inaccurate at the moment.

I’ll check back later as soon as I get more ideas and I look forward to seeing suggestions of other members of the community.

Depends on your server I guess. I ran around for about 6 hours in Orr yesterday and only ever saw about 4 real people. The rest are all bots. I am on Gate of Madness and currently it is listed as a full server but no one is to be found in Orr aside from maybe K-trains.

I was thinking of the same problem, my solution is a bit different.

Once you get 100% for a zone an NPC for each city appears in a secure spot. The NPC’s will have 4-5 different heart quest that once you complete you get your standard exp, karma, cash PLUS a city token (since they don’t have faction) and the quest resets so you can do it again. The tokens can then be used in that city to buy items. Maybe an item is 50% crafting exp if in the city, maybe it is some racial food (like a Charrbroiled burger, Trail Mix, etc), could be gear, whatever. With this setup every zone is back in play for people and it does not funnel everyone into Orr – you can still farm your karma plus tokens in any zone you want.

Another person on another thread suggested Traveler’s Gifts like in GW1.

Every week an NPC would be in a different part of the world and players would collect a specific item in excange for Traveler’s Gifts, which contained things like Mini’s, Rare Skins ect.

If they implemented that but added additional items (say, 3 or 4 needed), and had Karma (amount would have to be enough to be an incentive), Money + Rare Skin / Legendary Material (Obsidian Shard, Ecto, Clover), it’d give players an incentive to leave to search out these materials.

@conifur: Sounds a bit like Nicholas the Traveller from GW1. Which is some kind of nice idea.
Even if you don’t want to associate heart quest with him, it could work like this: Every week he pops up in a different lesser travelled territory and asks for some specific trophies dropping there during his visit or some specific tasks which reward a trophy. Those should not be easily obtainable but require some amount of work, maybe even teamwork.
The trophies can be traded in for gifts, which are then again limited to a certain amount per week per account to prevent “overgrinding” of the content.
Doing this content together would also be a very good possibility for guild events in PvE!

In tharnished coast you can find a hundread people farmind the same events over and over again in orr, i changed to henge of denravi and couldn’t find more than 10 people on the same place. :P

That is absolutely ridiculous. Henge is listed as full and yet I’m lucky not to trip over a tumbleweed.

Where the hell is everyone who’s supposedly playing on this server?

i am on Henge, and i am karma farming in Orr. i think many players are, too. we have been losing WvW lately. so maybe they all moved to the current server winner for action.
