Hylek as playable race
While adding new races is something that people would enjoy, the fact that each race has it’s own voice actors and unique story, the amount of work needed to add them is rather immense. If it does happen, it will probably have to wait till a major expansion.

That is understandable, but I would think they are already planning their first expansion. If they are a competent mmo developer they are already at least. I am just throwing suggestions out there to let them know someone in the fanbase wants it at least.
Well.. a lot of people have been talking about this in other threads.. so far the one’s I’ve seen suggested that I personally would like are Kodan, Tengu and Largos. I’m not exactly a fan of the Hylek, Quaggan or Skritt as playable races.

I’m a big fan of Skritt. Tengu would go fairly well too, but they’d need to get Cantha going then. Oh, I’d absolutely love to visit Cantha! Kaineg city could be pretty PIA tho.

Seeing that photo just made me want to play as a Hylek even more.
Hylek are not going to be playable race. They were not designed to be playable, to start with. Do not count on them, really. As for new races I bet Tengu are going to be added in future expansion. As far as i know Anet was thinking about adding them from the very start of the game.
