My reasons against having LFG

-Having LFG is a way to loose part of the socialization with people.

-LFG makes the game less interactive.

-What’s the point in having LFG if you have your guild, and map chat to find people.

-LFG was implemented in WoW with a better reason, because you had to run around the world to get to places, Which can take forever. while in GW2 you can just waypoint. So what’s even the point of having LFG?

-You said it yourself arena net, “We don’t want to make gear a necessary part of being able to enter a dungeon, instead it’s based on the players skill”. Okay… So if you’re implementing LFG and you need some way to get a group, then have can it find skilled players that are on par with you? Yes, maybe a leaderboard, but players can change, they might be very lucky and seem extremely skilful one day, but they might change over day to become worst, and once they’ve done that they’ll end up in a high skilled group and get shouted at, and nobody want to get shouted at.

-I actually enjoy going around the world and seeing a bunch of level 80s in one place and saying to my self, ‘Hey, I wonder what this is all about!’. In other words, having a bunch of level 80s in an area makes the area more vibrant in a certain kind of charm.

Conclusion: No LFG pleeeeease! :c

The above reasons either make no sense, or are your personal preference. How about they do implement it, and you are free not to use it?

An LFG option would be great for people like me. I don’t take the time to make in-game friends personally, preferring a more solo PvE style except for events, world bosses, and dungeons. I never was a guildie (I belong to a guild of two.. just myself and an IRL friend). In my case I would not be able to do dungeons at all without PUGs.

The problem with LFG is that it gets used as a means to speed-run everything for specific loot or rewards, which makes it incredibly difficult to find a group that actually wants to do a dungeon for the sake of the experience.

I feel that it’s better to have the option than to not. I just wish there were a reasonable solution to the LFG abuse problem.

^ BTW, lest I make myself seem anti-social :P, I do like to help out others and join in on interesting happenings in the game. I even ask for help from time to time. I just don’t run with others while leveling and doing my story.

all a lfg does is put you in contact with other people. find ones you like running with befriend them and run with them again at a later date.

LFGs promote socializing and meeting new people not just running with the same old gang

In game LFG tools can only serve to help find groups easier and that cant be a bad thing. The fact that the 3rd party site GW2LFG.com has been used to troll people only serves as a better reason to expedite an in game LFG tool.

-Having LFG is a way to loose part of the socialization with people.

If I’m sitting in front of a dungeon that nobody else on my server is currently waiting to do, I’m not sure what kind of socialization I’m losing. If I join a group I found through gw2lfg, I actually have someone to talk to.

Map chat doesn’t work because it isn’t cross-server (LFG is, on the other hand). Guildies are great when I can get them, but sometimes there aren’t enough around or they won’t do what I want them to (grr ). Since we can’t H/H in GW2, that leaves forming PUGs, and LFG tools make that so much less trouble than it otherwise would have been, especially outside peak hours.

Just a random PuGgle.

If with socializing you mean spamming map chat and looking on gw2lfg and hoping my guildies will change their minds, then I won’t be sorry to see that go. I’m perfectly capable of striking up a conversation with people I found with the lfg tool.

-Having LFG is a way to loose part of the socialization with people.

Having LFG is also a way to increase socialization with people, as it not only allows you to easily meet with people, but due to the way that cross-realm works you can also socialise with people from other realms more easily (You can already do dungeons with people from other realms)

-LFG makes the game less interactive.

It can also make the game more interactive due to giving more people easier access to dungeons/world events/leveling partners/events participation whom aren’t constantly spamming chat with “LFG to X”

-What’s the point in having LFG if you have your guild, and map chat to find people.

To completely counter your first argument about socialisation. Also to allow for people to find groups with people from other realms (Helpful during low peak hours) and also to reduce the amount of spam in chat (When the entire chat can be filled with people spamming what groups they’re looking for, groups looking for members and also regular chat, it gets a bit hard to follow)

-LFG was implemented in WoW with a better reason, because you had to run around the world to get to places, Which can take forever. while in GW2 you can just waypoint. So what’s even the point of having LFG?

To find people to go to said dungeon with.

-I actually enjoy going around the world and seeing a bunch of level 80s in one place and saying to my self, ‘Hey, I wonder what this is all about!’. In other words, having a bunch of level 80s in an area makes the area more vibrant in a certain kind of charm.

Having LFG doesn’t mean that groups can’t be formed the traditional way (Via asking in chat, asking guild members etc) and doesn’t change the fact that 80’s will be gathering up for other reasons such as World Events and such.
