It’s incredibly fun and chill when a 1v1 tournament gets going by the windmills in the borderlands. There’s barely any lag because there’s less people. There’s no zerg fights. Everyone is genuinely nice to everyone else. It’s an amazing experience.
However, it’s INSANELY hard to get on going. Communication between worlds is so inefficient since we have to alternate between /party and /say just to communicate effectively. The more people that arrives the harder it becomes to communicate with one another.
ALSO, the biggest reason why I love 1v1 in WvW so much is that I can show off my gear! It makes personalizing your set so much more gratifying. I spent a good chunk of real life money buying Transmutation Stones and converting to gold to make my Warrior look amazing.
ANet! What is your overall stance on this?
Stance is its a waste of space, dueling belongs in PvE where all your communication issues are solved and you can prettify yourself to your hearts content, all without wasting space in wvw queues.
And before you say it yes I know these ‘fight clubs’ intend on starting in low populated borderlands but zergs change maps all the time and what once had no queue now does.
yes please 1v1, dueling, any arguments against is by carebears

Or by people sick to the back teeth of these spam threads.
There aren’t words enough in the English to describe how little I care about dueling one way or another. Whether it’s implemented or not won’t effect me in any way shape or form.
However WvW is not the place for it. As mentioned, the Queues are problematic enough as is on servers, and this would simply exasperate an already existing problem. If it’s implemented, it needs to be done in either the Open World or in the Heart of the Mists.
multiple threads are necessary because it is such a popular idea, it is ridiculous that dueling was not available from start. Best way to improve one skills is to test vs another. But of course anet caters towards those who’s feelings are easily hurt, and too lazy to improve their skill but instead whine about how much other classes are more op.

No, multiple threads aren’t needed, regardless if the idea is popular. Devs are more likely to notices one topic with a hundred posts then a fifty with two posts.
My only problem with this is, I believe WvW is NOT the place for duel arenas. It would not only take up space, but defeats the whole purpose of WvW. Instead, I think a small arena in somewhere, say Lion’s Arch, would suffice. In fact, there are even a couple of areas that seem to be set up for the whole thing, they just need to implement it.
