A quick and simple fix to WvWvW is to swap the buffs of the Orbs with that of the Outmanned and visa versa.
Lets face it the Outmanned buff is absolutely useless for those whom are outmanned, they serve no benefit what so ever because even with this buff there is nothing much they can do.
The same can be said for the Orbs all they are achieving is making strong servers even stronger.
Wouldn’t it be better to have the Orb bonus as this:
1 Orb = 33% Extra XP
2 Orbs = 33% Extra XP and Magic Find
3 Orbs = 33% Extra XP, Magic Find and Karma.

and the Outmanned Buff bonus as:
A simple 15% on all stats.

I know that it wouldn’t fully level the playing field but it would give servers whom are outmanned a fighting chance.

For those who don’t know what the Orbs do at the moment in WvWvW and I quote from the Wiki “Each Orb of Power grants the owning world a 5% boost to maximum HP and 50 bonus points to all stats”.
So it’s obvious that any server that holds more than one Orb is going to have the upper hand in obtaining the 3rd Orb.
As you can see from what I posted above, a simple switch in stats between the outmanned buff and orb buff.
It does not affect the scoring in anyway in doing so and puts everyone on an even playing field, which according to Arenanet’s very own hype is how they wish the game to be, everyone on an even playing field where it is down to player skill rather than external influences.

I’ve seen this same thing suggested many times. Heck, I’ve posted it myself. Bumping one thread isn’t going to make the Anet game devs notice if they haven’t already.

Interesting thread.
I could not agree more.

Further more I would love to see changes which made people use tactics more. Like changing walls and gates to only take damage from siege weapons. This would force people to actually think and not just run mindless killing runs. The Zergs are good to run camps, but if WvW is more of a 70% focus on Zergs, then there is no use for tactics and people do not have to work together. WvW is actually the only part of the game which I find very unbalanced. And this is sad, because WvW appeals to many casual gamers. Who find it more entertaining than PvP.
WvW is endgame for so many people, it needs a good hard look and fix.

From this one can only presume you have never faced being outnumbered by a server whom held 3 orbs.
I wonder if the players from servers at the bottom of the table would agree with you.
But I digress as this is about leveling the playing field to create a balanced game play experience because quite frankly WvWvW is failing on this extremely badly to the point where some players have come to the point of even uninstalling the game, of which I personally know of 4 that have done so.
ArenaNet’s own hype about the game was about how balanced they had created it where everyone could get a bite at the cherry and not feel overly outclassed.
In PvE and PvP (not including WvWvW) they have got this balance right yet have failed big time in WvWvW.
The Orb and Outmanned switch of buffs will go a long way towards re-balancing this part of the game, though I do agree that there are other factors that have created an imbalance this is but just one of them.

You might aswell drop the Orbs as a whole then cause no WvW guild cares about extra XP, Karma or Magic Find.

I think should keep the Orbs buff the way it is.

Perhaps change outmanned to work roughly the same as the Orb buff.

The wiki doesn’t say how outmanned is calculated, tho. How many more do the other two teams need to outnumber you for it to count. If team A outnumbers team B, does team B get the outmanned buff when facing team C, too?

To the above posters.
Try saying that XP & Karma doesn’t matter to the Karma zergs that take on only the easy targets then fly off to another map.
Plus one wonders if some of the higher servers would even be where they are if what I have outlined was in place right from the start.
As for the HP boost without even taking into account the 50+ points on all stats its an extra 15.76 hp per 100, then you have to take into account the extra toughness and damage.
How anyone can say that the way the orbs are right now makes no difference at all must be playing a different game than the rest of us.
Please ArenaNet honor your very own hype and bring some balance to WvWvW
