I have been a huge fan of the Guild Wars series, I’ve played the first ones time and time again and I like Guild Wars 2 a lot, but this is how I view things at the moment, not to offend anyone or saying it’s 100% true, correct me if I’m wrong, but this is how it feels:
People are leaving the game, getting tired of it and you know why? Because you don’t release huge content, you focus on these live events that players complete in a couple of days, there is no real challenge in it.
Dungeons are getting boring, I’ve talked to guild mates and friends and we want raids, dungeons with more people, groups of 8 people or more! I know there is no “holy-trinity”, let’s not go there, it’s not the point, but it would be more fun to unite a bigger group for a bigger dungeon, I’m not saying it has to be a “raid” like in WoW or any other mmo, just a bigger group in a bigger dungeon.
In PvP, since I’m a player from the first game, I would like to see GvG’s (for those of you that don’t know what that is, it’s Guild VS Guild) it would bring more activity, more players and more competition, at least it’s my opinion.
And Random Arenas would be nice too, since Custom Arenas are on their way. (and finally)
Why is WvW always in the same background? Why aren’t there new maps?
Don’t get me wrong, I like WvW, I’m just throwing an idea here, why are all borderlands exactly the same?
Why isn’t one borderland that belongs to a server, different from another borderland?
In terms of geography and terrain I mean, it’s always the same, it gets boring.
So just an idea for WvW, create new maps, maybe when a certain borderland is losing, their respective borderland resembles more like a schorched desert (like ascalon) or something.
My guess is you are focusing too much in casual content, but why? You’ll end up getting less and less people interested because there is no challenge in what you offer, players like me, that love the Guild Wars series and Lore, desire huge content, real challenges, new stuff, not this living story events again and again.
But please keep in mind I’m not offending the game or players in any way! Some people might think I’m an hater and I’m really just a concerned fan that loves the game.
Also
Please consider including Cloaks or Capes in characters like you had in the first game! I really can’t understand why they don’t exist in GW2. It’s one of those things that are really not that important when it comes to gameplay mechanics and content, but I’ll be honest, seeing my Charr Warrior with full T3 and with a cape/cloak would be so awesome and I bet more people would love to see their characters with that too.
Maybe consider an expansion (not discussing release dates, not the topic here) with new professions and races, emotes like playing the air guitar or drums like you had in the first game!
As far as the Lore and story goes, I couldn’t be happier, it’s not dissapointing in my opinion, I would like to know more about the elder dragons, but I’m sure we’ll know soon enough or when the time is right.
I love the game and it’s one of the best games out there today, but please, give some attention to the players who put their time and effort into the game, not just the casual players. I myself am getting tired of the game because it offers nothing different or amazing, my guild is getting bored, friends of mine are leaving for other games, Rift, SW:TOR, Neverwinter, are or are becoming “F2P” with new content for both casual and hardcore players, you’ll end up having empty servers and less and less people in GW2.
I am a concerned player and customer, please don’t ignore my opinion because I love your company.
