And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
Ignore/block should remove the player you are blocking from your playing experience. They should not be able to see you, you should not be forced to read their messages in map, team, emote, or guild.
This is just my 2 cents after an entirely ridiculous thread got locked in discussion, and it was recommended that players make a suggestion about the block/ignore feature without any of the silly subtext.
Block and ignore suggestions, go!
/agreed
When you put someone on ignore/block, you should not
-see their chat in any channel
-see any of their emotes
They should not be able to
-see when you’re online
-see what map you’re in
Teams are trickier (because anyone can invite).
Should they not be allowed to team with a group you’re in (say through lfg) if their buddy joins that group?
Would shutting off their chat in team be sufficient? What if they actually post something helpful/important to what you’re doing?
GW1 Ignore functionality:
The ignore list allows you to identify players from whom you do not wish to hear. Adding a person to your ignore list blocks all messages from that person, and prevents his/her text from appearing in your chat windows. No status will be displayed for these accounts, and no other character names will be displayed. The ignore list can hold a maximum of 10 names and uses white font.
You appear to ignored players as if you are offline.
^That would work for me.
They shouldnt be able to join groups with people who have blocked them. If thats too hard then at the least those groups should be invisible on the lfg tool.
As for the team issue. I think them not showing in your party chat would be best
When you put someone on your ignore list, you don’t want to see any more or what they say or do.
If the unfortunate case of getting put into the same group through LFG or joining a buddy of his happens. You still have choices.
-If you just don’t want to deal with him, you can always leave the group. (this is assuming its just a random chance happening. if he is somehow deliberately stocking you that another issue)
-You can stay in the group and won’t see what he says. You run the risk of him giving tips for the mission and missing them, but putting him on your ignore list and leaving him there, would mean you have no interest in what he says. You can always remove him from your list to see what he is saying.
What about those of us who have people on our block list because they have joined our groups to kick us and destroy our instance (griefers). They can still join our groups and repeat the offense.
By team I meant in wvw /team not party.
But right they shouldn’t be in your party if you blocked them.
Agreed, an ignore should work universally throughout the game.
