Hello Guys and hopefully some Anet Community Guy who is reading this!
As we were told that with the upcoming Living Story Updates the Story will be expanded, I wanted to create this thread to discuss a little bit about how Anet will or maybe should expand the Story.
In my opinion Anet should ignore the Elder Dragons for a period of time. Let the Races of Tyria fight lesser threats, like the Aetherblade, or let them fight each other, not in a big War, but in small debates between their leaders creating gaps between their friendships and weakening them while completly forgetting about the Elder Dragons.
And then, take away something we learned to like in a scenario like this:
Jormag finally attacks from the North, but completly unexpected, he ignores Hoelbrak and goes for Divinitys Reach, where the people didn’t even know he exists. He attacks the Lands of Kryta, covering Queensdale, the Kessex Hills, the Gendarren Fields and Harathi Hinterlands in snow. For the Time of that Living Story, Icebrood are attacking everywhere and the Players have to defend the People in a whole Bunch of New events and Meta Events to fight new Claws of Jormag.
And then at the end there will be a new dungeon available for 15 Players in 3 Groups.
This Dungeon is Jormags Attack on Divinitys Reach. While he flies above summoning Icebrood everywhere and corrupting everything, one group has to defend the Base at the gate, and the other two groups have to get all civilians out of the districts and bring them to the Base at the Gate to Queensdale.
The Seraph and the 3 Groups fight their way to the Palace Garden and secure the Asura Gate, once it’s secure, an NPC will be send out to get help. After that you push further to the Palace, finding Queen Jennah in there, badly wounded. Of course Logan goes wild and runs out of the Door to find a Priestress of Dwayna. One Group has to follow him, while the others defend the Throne Room.
Logan manages to find a Priestress and she has to be escorted to the Throne Room, but it is way to late. Jennahs wound is corrupted by the Ice that caused it and she would transform into Icebrood soon, but she begs Logan to kill her. They may kiss, to make it more dramatic and then Logan kills her. In the same Sequence the Front Wall of the Throne Room gets ripped off by a Giant Icebrood Creature and the Players and the Seraph would get overrun, but through the Asuran Gate stream bloodthirsty Norn, Airships fire from above and the Charr role in with some Tanks, including Rytlock, Eir, Caithe and Zojja.
With a last big Bossbattle in the Garden against the undefined Giant Ice Creature, the Instance ends with a last Sequence where Trahearne comes through the Gate and everyone says “Good Job Commander Trahearne, without you we would’ve lost!”.
Jormag retreats back to the mountains and the time has come to attack him in his lair.
That would be my idea, of course it’s just thought, my whole point is not to force Anet to implement all I said, I wrote this to make my Point clear:
Tl;dr:
The Dragons have to take something away we like to make it more personal and important for us to kill them. And of course the fight has to be good too.
Thanks for reading!
