I think SWTOR has this system, where players report gold sellers and the chat automaticly learns which codes and phrases to detect and intercept to prevent from it showing up on the chat. WoW also has a couple addons that do this.

Basicly whenever i report a player the chat system scans the message. From thousands of reports it will learn which common words are used and automaticly blocks all messages that contain those keyword combinations. That way, in time, gold sellers won’t be able to post messages.

Obviously some of them will do creative typing like “se11ing G!O!L!D www . hax[ ] web si te (dot) CoM” but those cases will be reported by players and, since there are far fewer spam reports, it would be easier to catch them sooner.

Basicly most of the chat spam would cease, and those that make it through the filter get caught alot faster (since the total amount of reports will be alot less).

Anyone else agrees?
